Pancake Day. ShroveTuesday This year Pancake Day is celebrated on the 21st of February. They celebrate it because they can eat many things but in the day of Lent they can't eat anything. any It is also is called Shrove Tuesday. Tuesday The name Shrove comes from the old word ''shrive'' which means to confess. Pancake Day is celebrated in the United Kingdom and in other countries like Australia, France, Poland, Sweden, Canada and Denmark. That day it is a tradition to eat pancakes. A pancake pancak is a thin, flat cake, made of butter tter and fried in a pan. Caster sugar (superfine sugar) is sprinkled over the top and a dash of fresh lemon juice added. The pancake is then rolled. Some people add golden syrup or jam.

Stonehenge What is Stonehenge? Stonehenge is one of Europe's biggest stone circles. The stones are twelve metres high. The oldest part is nearly 5.000 years old.

Who were the Druids? The Druids were the priests in Britain 2,000 years ago. They used the sun and the stones at Stonehenge to know the start of the months and seasons.


Every June 21st, hundreds of people go to Stonehenge to watch the sun rise. The sun shines on the Heel stone. Druid celebrations also take place on Midsummer's Eve. Bonfires are lit to show respect for the Sun God, whose power is very strong at the Summer Solstice.
