Karl Elsener
Soldier’s knife 1891
Officer’s- and Sporting knife 1897
OVER 125 YEARS TRADITION AND EXPERIENCE In 1891 the first soldiers’ knives were delivered to the Swiss Army. In 1897, when Karl Elsener created the now legendary «Swiss Army Knife», he could never have imagined how it would become a worldwide icon for quality and multi-functionality. Hundreds of companies outside of our trade, have used the «Swiss Army Knife» in advertisements as a symbol to promote the quality and versatility of their own products or services. The multi-function tools of Victorinox solve problems, fulfill the highest standards and appeal through their understated elegance. They have been designed and created to benefit people. With an established brand such as Victorinox, your promotion will be successful, impactful and most sustainable.

Print Processes For high-quality products, which are sent around the world as image bearers, the inscription must also be at the same high standard. With our large variety of processes we guarantee that your advertising statements can be reproduced according to your wishes.
Etching Inscription on metal parts in an electrolytic way (electrolyte and etching current). Suitable for logos with fine lines or larger surfaces, as well as narrow and bold fonts. Very durable. Color: anthracite dark gray
Tamponprint Tamponprinting is able to reproduce in contour signets, logos, inscription, images and even photographs sharply and cleanly. On the one hand , we use a spot color process (48-pitch screen) with up to six colors and, on the other hand, we use a four color photographic print process (CMYK, 54-pitch screen).
Inscription Artwork Please provide your inscription artwork in one of the following forms:
Protective Lacquer A Victorinox tamponprint inscription on cellidor handles is protected with a high gloss protective lacquer (with the exception of the Classic models with LED, laser or ballpoint pen). The purpose of the hard lacquer is to provide the already durable imprint with greater resistance to abrasion and chemical substances. This process is environmentally friendly and the lacquer is food safe.
Artwork for company logos Fonts must be converted to paths. The colors must be defined precisely with Pantone, RAL or HKS numbers. FreeHand eps
tif format

Engraving A tool cuts the font into the material. For plastic surfaces, the engraving is then filled with a white contrasting color. Suitable for small runs, individual names and short phrases without logos (special letter possible). For diamond engraving on the SwissTool, logos and inscription are also possible. Colors: White contrasting, colored filling for plastic surfaces. No additional colors for steel (SwissTool).

Image files for photographic prints The resolution of the image file must be 300 dpi and provided full size (1:1). The file may be in RGB or CMYK color space. Adobe Photoshop

Design suggestions Design suggestions may be produced in Adobe Acrobat, QuarkXPress, and Adobe InDesign, but they must be specially prepared for tamponprinting.
The Victorinox emblem together with your advertising message! We recommend that you also use our Victorinox emblem whenever possible together with your advertising message. This distinguishes the quality of our products in an unmistakable way and works favorably towards the desired image transfer. The Victorinox emblem can either be used on the front side or the back side, but may only be used in the standard position. If the emblem is not desired, this must be stated clearly when placing your order.
