My Childhood And Moon "In my childhood, one of my favourite pastimes was staring at the full moon, looking for familiar shapes. I definitely could see a rabbit in there, that was from a very popular Chinese tale. I take this work as a remembrance of my childhood and I all the views I may never see again. "

I am attracted mainly by the exploratory nature of painting. Sometimes fantastic elements surface on the canvas during the painting process– they may be an animal or a tree or organized accidentally by colour blocks. These "accidents" map the whole story. Shapes of animals, plants, or people are hiding in my paintings, and the audience could identify them or ignore them since they are at the border of representational and abstract. I get a lot of inspiration from artists like Chagall, Munch, Picasso, Perrotin, David Hockney, Huang Yogyu, as well as facial makeup in traditional Chinese opera and freehand brushwork.
