The primary objectives and purposes of the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association are: (1) to preserve, improve and maintain the purity of the blood of horses of the Andalusian breed, which includes horses of the Spanish origin, known as Caballo Pura Raza Española and/or of Portuguese origin, known as Cavalo Puro Sangue Lusitano, or Raca Lusitano, and/or of Spanish/Portuguese origin, and to promote the public interest in the science of breeding Andalusian horses, and to foster, aid and encourage the breeding, exhibition and promotion of this breed; and (2) to advance the knowledge and education of the public and Members about horses of the Andalusian breed and to promote the acquisition and distribution of knowledge of the history, use and standard, medical and other care and treatment, and propagation of horses of the Andalusian breed.
IALHA 2012 Lusitano Champion of Champions, GLITER DO RETIRO (Aquiles do Retiro x Alegria do Retiro) owned by Haras Dos Cavaleiros of Magnolia, Texas, and presented by Tiago Ernesto. Gliter was also awarded the 2012 National Championship for Lusitano Colts 3 Years and Under. Portuguese judge JOÃO RALÃO DUARTE noted that while it is unusual to give the top prize to such a young horse, Gliter impressed him as being very typical and very correct. Haras Dos Cavaleiros is a respected source for Lusitano Champions in the United States. Owners CARMINA ZAMORANO and RAFAEL CHAVEZ are tireless proponents of the new discipline of Working Equitation, sponsoring competitions at IALHA’s U. S. National Show and at The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show held on March 21 and 22 in Houston, TX. They are also helping to field a U. S. team for the World Championships of Working Equitation in Normandy in 2014. 2

Zinco is brave and bold with a sound work ethic. He is powerful and talented, forgiving and kind. He enjoys his work schedule which includes: jumping, dressage exercises, hill work/track work, and trail riding. He is a respectful stallion around other horses.
