ADMINISTRATION
President
Dr. James Edwards is the fourth president of Anderson University. As President, he provides leadership to the university’s faculty and staff members, who serve more than 2,900 students. Edwards earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965 and his Master of Divinity degree in 1970, both from Anderson University. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Ohio State University in 1987. Edwards previously served as Director of Student Recruitment and Director of Church and Alumni Relations at Anderson University. He was senior pastor at Meadow Park Church of God in Columbus, Ohio, for 14 years. Prior to his presidency at AU, Edwards served one year as CEO of Warner Press.
Athletic Director Marcie Taylor is in her seventh year as the Athletic Director at Anderson University. Taylor is in her 25th year overall at Anderson and is currently the head women’s basketball coach. Before taking over the AD position, Taylor was the Associate Athletic Director. Taylor was a guard for the Lady Ravens from 1980-84 and graduated in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education/Physical Education, with a minor in Biology. She earned a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Ball State University in 1988. Taylor spent one year as an assistant coach at AU before taking over the program in 1991.
WOMEN’S SOCCER HEAD COACH Jennifer Myhre Jennifer Myhre enters her fourth season as head coach of the Anderson women’s soccer program. Prior to coming to AU, Myhre spent two years as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Carnegie Mellon University. She also has assistant coaching experience at Luther College and Northern York High School. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Messiah College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sports and exercise science, concentrating in sport management. Myhre also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Messiah and completed her master’s degree in education from the University of
Washington in 2009. During her four years playing at Messiah, the Falcons captured the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2005, were semifinalists in 2004 and 2006, and were tournament finalists in 2007. Myhre was elected president of the Messiah Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as well as the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation. Myhre has obtained the NSCAA National Diploma and has a USSF “C” coaching license. She is a graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy and NACWAA HERS program.

Larry Burton will be in his third season with the AU women’s soccer coaching staff in 2014. Burton has eight years of travel coaching experience with Hoosier United FC, Komets Soccer Club, Fusion Soccer Academy, and the Danville Optimist Youth Soccer League. He was also the head coach at Danville High School in 2009 and obtained his USSF “D State” license in 2010. Burton earned his associates degree in engineering from ITT Tech. He was a three-sport letterman at Orleans High School.
Steven Girt is in his third season as assistant women’s soccer coach at Anderson University. Girt played soccer at Anderson for four seasons and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems. In 2011, he served as the assistant boy’s soccer coach at Pendleton High School, and has served as a camp counselor/coach at Anderson University soccer camps since 2006.
Isidro Alvarado enters his first season as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Anderson University, where he will work primarily with the Ravens’ goalkeepers. Alvarado brings 25 years of coaching experience to Anderson. He currently is the head girls’ coach at Muncie Burris Laboratory and on staff at Sporting Indiana FC. At Sporting he coaches the U9 and U10 girls academy teams and is the club’s goalkeeping coach. Since 1989, Alvarado has coached at the high school, club, and collegiate levels. He holds an Advanced National Diploma and Level I and II Goalkeeper Licenses from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). He also holds a National Youth License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
