We found more writings and teachings that we felt needed to be released to the public. We transcribed Robert’s Transmutation, How the Alchemist Turned Lead into Gold and republished it in both print and digital format. Digitalizing all of Astara’s publications and Degree Lessons has been a major transformation of the way documents are being archived and stored for future generations.

Astara combined reverend duties with member participation through community engagement with Blessing the Prayer Petitions on a weekly basis, Tuesday evenings at 6:15pm pst. Even if people are not online they can still send White Light prayers to those who have submitted petitions. The results and feedback from these blessings have been incredibly positive and we are overwhelmed with the many every day “miracles” our combined prayers have enabled. Read about this process in the Power of Prayer article. As Astara looks towards its 71st Birthday Celebration and annual fundraiser, we are reminded that the work of spiritual refinement is an evolving and never-ending process and we thank you ALL for your commitment of helping Astara to refine the Love and Light and ongoing work of the Chaney’s and the Master Teachers.

Part of what you’re doing is you’re unwinding some of this attachment to form, right?

There’s this tendency to kind of cling on to things that have to do with the form. And so as you go through and you do meditation, you do work with angels, you do devotional practices to Deities- to Christ or Buddha, or whoever is of your tradition.

V: Yes. I get it. Changing form is a big part of, or even a definition of alchemy, right?

V: When you say meditate do you mean pray or direct the mystical White Light?

GREG: When we meditate we spend a lot of time bringing in the white light. The being that gave the teachings to Astara, through Earlyne was Kathumi. Kathumi is very connected to the white light. Kathumi is also very connected to alchemy. Kamthumi is also very connected to inner transmissions or the transmission of teachings , which is very different than accumulating facts and information, then forming ideas and thoughts. There are certain awakenings or empowerments for you to be able to perceive something, to process something, or have a stream of awareness or stream of consciousness passed through. A lot of this has to do with the ability to go beyond your senses. So Astara is very much a mystical practice. If you take the teachings from the books and start applying them, and then you look at the kinds of meditations that we’re practicing, it’s a very much a mystical practice. V: What else does the transmission process include?

GREG: Yes. It’s very abstract. Let’s explore some of these processes, it’s not so much about the form. When you meditate, you expand. But what does that mean? Consciousness or awareness expands into something different than your normal everyday life. There’s different kinds of expansion. There’s the sustained awareness that we call Lama yoga or Dion, or Zen that is like a certain realm. Then there is the state of oneness. When we meditate on the blue Pearl, when we do meditation on the inner eye, Kundalini meditation or when we hear the inner sound or holy nahd, there is a greater degree of oneness. This is a bit of a different realm or place than when you have sustained awareness. Then you have a practice where you’re circulating energy through the body. You’re developing focus. You’re developing the ability to move energy through the body. You’re also beginning to have the ability to manipulate the form. Now, even that’s a little elusive, right? Manipulating the form can be your thought processes, your ways of thinking, your formation of opinions, for example, but also in the physical body, it could be, harnessing the law of cycles and change to create shifts and physicalchangeforms.

So this action is of light. When it’s of darkness, it is a reaction and it just starts a loop that you never really are able to break out of until some light comes in.

GREG: It also involves the cultivation of intuition and the cultivation of clairvoyance. Clairvoyance is nice, but it’s not the point. As you develop this process, you are starting to develop abilities that go beyond the sensory realm or the realm of normal everyday life. The issue is that normal everyday life is so, all- consuming to our emotions and our physiology, that it is a source of our suffering. It is a source of disease and it is a very big source of our fears. In Buddhism, they’re doing practices for liberation-a liberation from being consumed by the senses. When you look at enlightenment, it’s not so much about what comes in or that you go up to the light, it’s really more about something that you let go of, or a series of little things that you let go of.

V: How do you explain alchemy and its role in Astara?

GREG: It’s a kind of a mysterious subject and people have pre-conceived ideas about it but it’s not something that can be explained very quickly and/or very easily. A lot of times you have to explain it through having a series of experiences because it’s outside your normal way of thinking. Alchemy is tied to meditation practice. It’s tied to healing. It’s tied to your cognitive functions and how your mind works. It’s tied to your ability to grow and evolve. It happens as the soul grows and evolves. And so, I’d like to take a look at it from a practical side, a practical application, and let’s look at it from the point of view when we meditate, right?

V: So practicing letting go of form is an aspect of the alchemical process when we meditate?

GREG: Right. For example; its very good for the healing process. Very good for bringing something in and then putting something in motion so that when you turn your attention away, it continues. This is literally the meaning of “creative destruction” or “divine power”. It is the ability to bring something in and take action. To put something in motion so that when your attention turns away, it continues.

V: Doesn’t the word alchemy translate to earthly or of the earth- and can you explainthat?

GREG: So Kundalini practice, if you think about it, it is tied to the coiled serpent down around the basic or the base of the tailbone. In certain traditions, we’ll call it the sacred fire, but this has to do with something lower. We know there is a realm of existence that is below your feet, right?

GREG: This is a very important teaching. This aspect of bringing in light and for it to come in more, it’s not that you go up and you think: “I’m saying my prayers , I’m saying my mantras, I wanna bring this light in to bring the light in.” You don’t go up, you go down, you go down to the realm below your feet. You mix whatever light you have, and then you take it back up. So our first instinct is to turn up, but the key is to go down and then up. So this is the whole basis of alchemy. This is the whole philosophy of what healing is. It is literally the deeper meaning to the aspect of the caduceus. The caduceus is the staff that, can go down into the lower realm and bring people out of their suffering and up into the heavens.

GREG: Exactly. Your spiritual development is not about what comes in or down. It’s what goes back up. From the lower realm before below your feet gets mixed with light and then heads back up because as the light mixes, what happens is the light and the form mix. Then it starts going up through your energy centers and eventually through the top of your head, and eventually up out of the top of your head, and you could say 12 inches above your head, and then sometimes even higher.

V: Right. Is that why we call it gounding?

V: WhatTransmutation.youaretalking

V: So the individual is the connection to refining the light?

GREG: You meditate and you have your expansion of consciousness and awareness. You are having experiences of brilliant white light, bliss, peace, stillness, and you have this beautiful meditation experience. And then what happens? You have to come back into your body. And when you come back into your body, the first thing you usually do or you’re prompted to do is wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes. So on one level you could say, ah, you have this expanded state. In this state of expansion, at some time, you have to come back into the body and ground that energy. You have to be grounded so that you can function in the day. That is true, but that is not the goal. When you do that, the goal is to experience light and then come back into your body. Through the act of grounding, you continue to pass light and consciousness into that realm that is below your feet. That then has an impact on how your energy centers function, your Chakra function, and more importantly, how your mind functions.

GREG: You’re purifying or sacrificing your animal nature that is tied to the earthly life or the sensory life. You’re offering it up to something that’s of the light or beyond the senses. Without having this experience, it’s really hard to talk about alchemy. You don’t have to intellectually understand it, but we want to have the experience so that we have the building material to manipulate matter. People take it very literal when they talk about alchemy, however, it’s really about bringing light into that realm below your feet, and then, and only then, to experience the different things that you do with that , causing certain elevating activities to transpire.

V: Are you saying the degree in which we are expressing our nature can be altered to a more spiritual and refined level?

GREG: Yes, we bring light in and we do our meditation. We put our awareness on our feet after we’re done with meditation to ground. And what’s happening is the light that we experienced in the meditation is now starting to emanate through the bottoms of our feet into this lower realm. There’s a little bit of mixing that happens that then moves that sacred fire, that Kundalini energy up. Once this happens, you start to have a greater ability to perceive the light. You have the greater ability to perceive these different places or these different realms. You are able to become transmuted to a higher level and expression of life. This process of activation takes time and the meditations and practices of Astara are designed to make you more alert to the divine potentialities present within your Self.

V: Can you give more details about the refining process and how and why we would want to accelerate it?

Mysticism is the art of extending inner receptive capacities beyond the limits of the physical world.

V: Is there scripture that supports this type of alchemy?

THE MECHANICS OF THE WHITE LIGHT;

1. It steps energy up, as you pray, your awareness is on your heart, and then it’s on your crown, and you release, it’s shooting energy up through the top of your head. Basically, it is stepping up the energy to be even more refined so that it eventually goes up to the incarnated soul and then eventually to the higher soul.

3. The energy is stepped down so that it’s more digestible to the body. And then eventually, it’s stepped down enough to where it passes down through the feet and down into that realm below your feet. So this is how you would activate what you would call Kundalini energy, sacred fire, whatever you would like to call it. As the light passes down into this area, it mixes, it starts to change your mental faculties, it changes your body, your emotions, but more importantly, your mind. And then the energy starts to move back up again. So as it moves back up, it’s changing your energy body, it’s changing your emotions, it changes your mind. Then it goes out through the top of your head with even more energy going to the incarnated soul and, eventually, the higher soul.

V: How does Love factor into this process?

Your spiritual development, slowly begins to transform the mind over a period of time, which will diminish the negative thinking that we generate about people, ourselves, repetitive thinking, thinking loops that are hard to break out of. You are increasing the ability to bring in and use the Light. You are beginning to harness the form in the essence. is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.

GREG: If you are planting the seeds of love, and loving kindness, then that is the food that you eat. And if you are planting the seeds of chaos and things like that, that is the food that you eat. If you are planting the seeds of violence, that is the food that you eat. And so the idea that you will eat your food until you return to the ground, and so, again, this is referencing in Kabbalistic teachings and old alchemical teachings that are very, very ancient, that for you to break the repetitive thinking of the mind, for you to break out of the chains of our lower thinking or repetitive thinking or negative thinking, you have to bring in white light. First off, you have to bring in white light, and it’s going to enter in through the crown. So you could say that the crown is the entry point for divine energy, or the entry point of white light.

2. It also does the reverse. As the white light comes in, that brilliant white light is not always digestible by the body, maybe not even by the emotions, somewhat a little bit of the mind, but it’s not a very digestible energy. The vibration is too high. So when the energy comes in through the crown, part of how you utilize it is the crown actually steps down the energy. It steps down the energy so that it can start mixing with your mind. It can start mixing with the emotions, and then eventually, it starts to mix with the physical body.

GREG: Yes. There’s a Bible verse that says: “By the sweat of your brow, you will eat your food until you return to the ground. Since from where you were taken, for dust you are, and dust you will return.” - Genesis 3:19. Now notice that it says, “By the sweat of your brow, you eat.” It says, “You will eat your food.” The brow is the center for the master chakra, the Ajna, that helps regulate and synchronize all the chakras. But it’s also tied to the mental body and energy of thought. So basically, whatever you are thinking creates who you are, what you are. It’s basically the things that happen to you are based on the thought processes or how you direct yourself, and this is the directing factor.

Close your eyes and just be still. Think of a prayer. It could be gratitude. It could be some difficulty going on in your life. Your awareness is on the center of your heart. Move your awareness to the top of your head. Keep your awareness on the top of your head.

Your awareness is just simply on the palms of your hands. Maintain your awareness on the palms of your hands. Move your awareness to the soles of your feet. Now just let go. Let go of everything. Just let go. Keep your eyes closed and just be still. Notice your body, your emotions, notice your mind. Notice your thoughts. Just watch them. Just observe them. Observe how you feel.

MESSAGES FROM THE MASTER TEACHERS

Master Rama

The name Rama is interpreted to mean the divine Son of Holy Breath (Holy Breath being the combined Father-Mother God). Ra related to the Father of light, Ma to the Mother of light. It is pronounced Rah-mah. In the ancient days when the Mysteries were being taught, one was given the name of “Rama” upon completion of an initiation. A spiritual name or sound is always bestowed upon a disciple at a certain stage of progression. The sacred name was again passed on by this teacher to another disciple gaining initiation. In this way the name of Rama has been transferred from teacher to disciple for unnumbered ages. During the days when the Master Jesus taught the Mysteries in Egypt, there came one from the East seeking initiation, and it was during this incarnation that this disciple gained Mastership and was given the spiritual name of “Rama.” There is a lineage of Master Teachers who bear the name of Rama, but it is this Rama — teacher who last incarnated during the time of Jesus — who has been led to teach at Astara’s Mystery School.

3. Project a thought to some spiritual Teacher. Ask that he or she be with you or contact you mentally during your meditations. Then center your attention on the Third Eye and the quiet inﬂow-outﬂow of the breath. Up to this point, the process is simply quiet meditation. You may wish to proceed no further. If you wish to enter deeper meditation and Lama Yoga discipline, proceed with the following steps:

2. Place feet near together. Knees relaxed; apart, if more comfortable that way. Place both hands in the lap, with the palms either up or down, whichever seems more comfortable. If you prefer the Lotus Posture, or Easy Pose, sit on the ﬂoor on a folded wool blanket covered with a cotton sheet.

4. Exhale all stale oxygen from the lungs by opening the mouth and exhaling vigorously through the teeth with a hissing sound, dropping the head down upon the chest.

7. Continue swinging the head back and forth with an even rhythm as the swinging of a clock pendulum, not pausing with the head held forward or back. The swinging must be steady, and the breath must be vigorous ... specially the exhaling ... closing the mouth

6. As you exhale, open the mouth and breathe out forcefully again through the teeth while swinging the head forward to the chest again.

5. Inhale by closing the lips and swinging the head backward, inhaling through the nose.

8. After completing the breaths, sit quietly and breathe normally. Focusing the attention again on the Third Eye. Feel the new power surging through your brain. Watch the inﬂow -outﬂow of the breath as long as possible. End the meditation by of saying the Astarian affirmation: I am whole ... I am filled with the light. I am perfect ... I am filled with the light. The light fills every cell of my body. Every cell is a dynamic center of intelligent essence and light force. The light surges into and through my blood, making it a fountain of life, bringing purity, vitality, youth and beauty into my being. I am in the Infinite Light, and the Infinite Light is in me. I am surrounded by the Pure White Light of the Christ. Only good shall come to me. Only good shall go from me.

Astara has always maintained the foundation of the ministry through the prayer petition process as given to Astara by Earlyne Chaney. Making a connection with the individual in need by holding a physical prayer petition card causes an etheric connection between the blessings (healers) and the petitioners. The Astara Reverends bless the prayer petitions daily. There are thousands of petitions coming in from the website, through the mail and via phone calls to Astara. Our volunteer Reverends reach out personally to check on petitioners via telephone on a weekly basis. Follow up calls are made to engage and generate feedback from the ones who submitted requests. Physical prayer petitions are placed in a large bowl in the sanctuary at Astara. This gives a physical image to direct the “prayer energy”. Special cases and healings are petitioned out to Head Reverends for concentrated healing work.

Astara’s book keeping processes have been refined to a highly functioning system that gives the current executives and board members transparent and accurate reportings. Classes at Astara have reached an all time high with events 5 days a week minimum and monthly recordings participations averaging about 3,000 views. However the process of refinement is never ending here at Astara and your help is always needed to keep Astara books and teachings, ministry and outreach, prayer-petitions and healing inclusive and current. Our goal is to increase participation in the weekly zoom classes that are free and available to all. Astara wants to promote more on-site sessions for in person engagement. The need for transferring boxes of recorded materials from the Chaney’s and videos as well as films is greater than ever as we rush against time to preserve the original items we found during our move. THE SEVEN-POINTED PENDANT OF ASTARA

In 1951 shortly after Robert and Earlyne opened Astara, during a class in psychic unfoldment taught by Robert, a five-pointed crystal was apported via a blazing light. The congregation at the time were witness to a small light which was described as a miniature star over the darkened room. It made a wide arc above the congregation and fell at Earlyne’s feet transformed into a small crystal stone. It was the answer to Earlyne’s prayers of wanting a medallion to wear to their church services.

The Master Kuthumi presented a brilliant seven-pointed star to me with a crystal glowing in its heart.

Earlyne Chaney often wore the above pendent at seminars when teaching or healing. The center crystal -a five pointed star-was apported to Earlyne. She had it mounted in a golden symbol embodying the All Seeing Eye and Seven-Pointed Star. The crystal center came from the Great Ones whom Astara serves and radiates remarkable healing light and power. The amulet was created as closely as possible to combine those the two teachers Rama and Kuthumi placed on Earlyne and Roberts necks and hearts during their own Fire Initiation. (MT. Shasta).
