Toronto Centre Island Waterscapes Park 3B Design Studio / Independent / December 2013 // GRASSHOPPER plug-in, Photoshop Cs5, InDesign CS5, illustrator cs5, autocad 2010, rhino 5.0, hand sketch
Waterscapes seeks to re-envision the occupation of a decommissioned Toronto Centre Island Airport site. The whole project is about the potential for dynamic programmatic landscapes, that occur along time and space, and whose emergence, and permanence are affected by site forces. The project seeks to touch the immaterial of space, and in so doing necessarily acknowledges the site’s future and past; in the making of this place, site forces such as the manmade regrading of the site and of its remediation in the early phase of project implementation are also instrumental in the creation of the park. The main focus of the design develops with the eternal change of the park, and the allowance of it to occur before the very eyes and experience of visitors. The landscape urbanism aspect of its creation essentially calls on its’ visitors to not only accept change, but to also celebrate it, moment to moment. Through its call to the archaic durée within us, and the archaic border without us, Waterscapes brings modernity in architecture to a calm, as it faces it with the eternity of experience in the present moment.

Portlands Community Timber Tree Farm Park 2B Design Studio / Independent / August 2012 // sketch up, Photoshop Cs4, InDesign CS4, illustrator cs4, Rhino 4.0, AutoCAD 2012, hand sketch
As part of the attempt to revitalize the downtown Portlands area, a community project is proposed where timber trees are grown on site, and harvested for production of furniture and art pieces, and other woodworking products re-sold to the public. Thus, not only is there economic benefit, but a social value is created on the site, where people will get to experience every part of the timber growing, harvesting, and manufacturing process.

Hotel CMON 2A Design Studio / Independent / December 2010 // SKETCH UP, Photoshop Cs4, illustrator cs4, AutoCAD 2010, Rhino 4.0, REVIT 2010, hand sketch
Hotel CMON is conceived as a hotel for experiencing Cambridge, which will simultaneously be of use to the local residents, in helping with the on-going revitalization of the downtown core. The green roof serves as a community focal point; guests can mingle and join in activities along with local residents of Cambridge.
Swimming pool pedestrian ramp provides focal point and interest. View to outdoors is maintained.
The swimming pool provides a focal point and is flanked by programmatic space on both sides.
Restaurant flanks the pool and also views into the courtyard.
Site plan; architecture consisted of two program blocks of public-private space, intercepted by the main frame which houses guests.
A pedestrian laneway is created, as the pool facade animates the street.

Testaccio Museum in Rome, Italy (Rome Studio 2014) 4A Design Studio / With partner Christina Robev/ December 2014 // SKETCH UP PRO, Photoshop Cs4, illustrator cs4, autocad 2014, rhino 5.0, hand sketch
Within the context of Testaccio, there is also the story of the city, and of its’ growth over time. Yet alongside this memory of historical growth is the city’s present form and transformation. The city evolves both morphologically, culturally and personally; the museum proposal attempts to engage visitors with the site through these various scales of space and time, all the while reminding them of their role in the city’s current growth, and their participation in its’ continuous narrative. The museum is organized according to four themes, each of which are primary forces of urban morphology in Rome: forma urbis, nature and landscape, history and mythology, and imago hominis. The four themes exhibit and take inspiration from respectfully corresponding monumental site aspects: Mattatoio, Tiber River, Monte Testaccio, and Roman/Self. Past, present, collective monument, all work together to enform the public space of the museum, and the museum-goers’ overall knowledge and integration into the site’s genius loci.
