LAYERS OF EXPERIENCE The port-side spaces of the project are exposed to a series of layers that compose the experience of the space. The first layer is the primary truss structrure that defines the space. Secondly, a facade assembly of microperforated screens provides shading. Lastly, behind these layers is the active backdrop of the port operations.

VERTICAL CONNECTIONS The cemetery-side spaces of the project are oriented to the existant vegetation of the site. The openings are carefully curated to frame only views to the natural landscape as well as vertical connections to the sky. The boundary between space, materials and exterior is treated to enhance the experience of an elevated cemetery.
