CandomblĂŠ is an Afro-Brazilian syncretic religion, which originated from different regions in Africa.! ! It has incorporated some aspects of the Catholicism over time.

It derives from African traditional religious beliefs and practices, and was developed in Brazil with the knowledge of African priests who were enslaved, and brought across the ocean from West Africa, together with their mythology, culture and language, ! between 1549 and 1888.

It is an oral tradition with no holy scriptures.

Music and dance are important parts of CandomblĂŠ ceremonies.

They enable worshippers to enter into a trance-like state and become possessed by the orishas, our guiding deities.

Sound, smell, sight, taste and touch, every sense is engaged in the ceremonies of CandomblĂŠ.

These alchemical and transformational stimuli leave a lasting impression on those who participate in these ceremonies.
