DAY CARE CENTER Year 3 / Individual / Copper Cliff, Sudbruy / Fall 2018 To emulate the surrounding residential community, these play houses for children carved around individual gardens to allow textured transparency through the building.

MIND SPACE Year 3 / Individual / Fall 2018 An architectural drawing excercise to explore and capture atmosphere embodied in the literary source of George Perec Species of Spaces and Other Pieces. This exploration involved drawing the tension created by the negative and positive spaces.

MOUNTAIN HALL Year 2 / Individual / Rotary Park, Sudbury / Winter 2018 The mountain pavilion proposal emerged from the study of place and material. The solution to lift the plane of elevation to the mountain with minimal impact to the landscape while provoking a dialogue with the powerful presence of the rock.
Floor Plan. / The spatial arrangement is sequenced in a linear floor plan sliced in a middle with a strong indoor and outdoor relationship. Programs / Rhino, Revit and Photoshop.

GREENWAY PAVILION Year 1 / Individual / Greenway, Sudbury / Winter 2017 The pavilion concept evolved from the extensions of architectural lines, that creates a choreographed pathway.

TENSION SPAN Year 3 / 13 Team Members / Copper Cliff, Sudbury / Fall 2018 A design-build project to host a croque game for children. Exploring tensile fabric to adapt to site conditions
Won the selection by the City of Sudbury. It was purchased and used for child development events in the community. Prize: $500
Experimentation. / Several experimental models were created to study the material. Progress construction photos of assembly system, measuring, cutting and sewing.

Play. / Unexpected forms emerged as the children started playing and pulling the fabric to choreograph the ball through the tube.

Interactive and Adaptive. / Connection details were designed at the corners and on site experimentation followed to adapt to the existing trees.

THE SHIFT Year 2 / Extracurricular / 3 Group Members / Bergen, Norway / Summer 2018 The shift was a design-build project designed in Canada and built in Bergen, Norway for a 5 day design build festival. One of the two teams representing Laurentian University at the festival and was part of a two week study trip in Iceland, Finland and Norway to study the architecture and its culture. The installation embodies the shifting of our natural elements as a consequence of climate change.
Design Investigations. / A modular system was investigated for building efficiency and allow for on site manipulation through models and sketches.

Construction. / Construction progress of the modular systems. Using japanese pull-saws, circular saws and drills to cut and assamble the 2 x 2 pieces.

Context views. / Context views of the building site, and how the modular triangles blend with the boat sails around the site, reinforcing the sculptural dialogue between water, land and site.

JÄ Ä JOKI Year 2 / Extracurricular / 3 Group Members / Sudbury / Winter 2018 Jaajoki is an experimental installation to mimic the fluidity of water through the manipulation of acrylic sheets.
Proposal won entry into Nuit Blanche event. Won people’s choise award at Nuit Blanche Exhibited during Up Here Music and Art Festival Sudbury.

ICE STATION Year 1 / 14 Group Members / Ramsey Lake / Fall 2016 and Winter 2017 The team based design-build ice station manifested from the forms created ice-skating. Arriving to an open and fluid form, allowing skaters to flow around it, skate through it or sit for rest. The ice station is built, placed on the skating path and used by the community.
Construction. / Steam bending and lamination of plained ash wood to form and construct the chairs in the structure.
