Medical Outreach in the Galapagos Part of the vision of Latin Impact Ministries is to use the talents and resources that God has given to us to see His Kingdom advanced around the world and especially in Latin America. In that spirit, we recently sent Andrés to the Galapagos Islands to assist a doctor/ missionary friend with a medical outreach. Andrés stepped in as a member of the group to translate and coordinate logistics as they ministered to the community by providing a free medical clinic in a local church. When the group arrived at Isabela, the final destination in the chain of small and sparsely populated islands, it was soon apparent that few people knew anything about the presence of the hosting church. Up until this point, the church had made little impact.

Medical brigade Like so many past experiences, it was again obvious that when we meet people’s physical needs, their hearts are opened to receive spiritual truth. After having ministered to 500 people; 20% of the island’s population knew where the church was. Many people were saved and healed. By the end of the trip the local pastor remarked that in only 5 days, his church became better connected to the community than in the previous 2 years of work. (Please visit our website www.latinimpact.org for incredible photos of this remarkable trip)

Cuba Hurricane Relief: Russell will be traveling to Cuba from Nov. 2 – 10. The island has been completely devastated by the recent hurricanes. We just got a report from Cuba that the island has gone further back in time because of the damages. 100’s of thousands of people are without shelter and it will be a long time before relief gets to the people. We will be traveling from one end of Cuba to the other conducting one day, regional meetings for the sports ministry while distributing hurricane relief aid.

Argentine Missions Conference: From October 15-23, Russell and Kerry will be ministering at a young people’s missions conference in Argentina. This will be a rare opportunity for them to minister together on the missions field. Please pray for them during this trip since it will require 2 all night flights and 2 all night bus rides since the conference is far outside Buenos Aires. They’ll finish their time in Argentina giving training to missionary candidates.

Frontiers Summit: At the end of October we will be hosting the leaders of Frontiers in Latin America for a type of summit. Leaders are coming from Holland, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Colombia to strategize for the coming year. We will also officially inaugurate the new sending base here in Miami. The official name will be Fronteras Miami. Page 2

ves a w r i A s ’ God Plans continue to evolve rapidly for building a Christian radio station in Peru. Thanks to a generous grant from the Walker Foundation in Atlanta, we now have a little over half of the $20,000.00 needed to build and equip the station. Russell traveled to Peru at the end of September to deliver the first installment of the funds and to take a computer for the station. Land is being purchased, architectural drawings are being made, building materials are being bought, and legal procedures have begun to get the station on air as soon as possible. The local church is extremely excited to see this long term dream begin to become a reality. For more information about this project, please visit our new website for details.
