Young people continue to experience God in the Gathering meetings! Gathering Meetings Take Off! The Gathering meetings in Homestead have started up this year with a bang as God continues to touch the many young people who attend each week. From more than 6 different churches and denominations, people come to the meetings experiencing God’s power and love in ways they never have before. Each time we meet, God amazingly “shows up” as we engage with Him in intimate worship, intercession and teaching. Twice a month, evangelistic “treasure hunting” teams go into the streets seeking God’s treasures and being used by Him to touch lives with His love and power. We’re starting to see a new generation of believers who love and know God and want to see Him known. Since the Super Bowl was in Miami this year, a group from the Gathering participated in an outreach and 48 hr prayer event targeting Super Bowl activities. This event was organized to penetrate the sex trafficking trade that is so prevalent here in South Florida and especially evident in the Super Bowl events each year. As ministry teams and law enforcement squads went onto the streets to rescue victims and prosecute the predators, the prayer teams interceded for their efforts. Within a few days, reports came in about arrests made that weekend as the pimps were caught trafficking young women and boys. We feel that great headway was made in the spiritual realm to limit and hopefully deter these Page 2
activities from continuing in the future. It was awe inspiring to see the musicians, singers, and prayer warriors praying for many hours throughout the weekend for God’s purposes to be fulfilled in South Florida. God is up to something really big here in South Florida, especially amongst the younger generation. Sometimes it feels like the progress isn’t fast enough, but then we look back at all that’s taken place and the lives that are forever impacted and changed. Then we realize that it’s just the beginning of great things to come. We know that God is raising up a mighty army to take this world for Jesus!
Cuba Trip in March! Please pray for Russell and Dusty Davis as they will be traveling across Cuba the first week of March. They will be visiting many churches and leaders from Havana all the way to the extreme eastern end of the Island in Guantanamo. Dusty is a former collegiate athlete working with students at UAB and will be joining Russell as they conduct training seminars for churches developing sports ministries as well as visiting isolated churches in rural areas. Pray for favor with airlines and government officials, safety and protection throughout the trip, and strength and anointing from God for this rigorous trip. Pray for God’s provision for the trip and protection for their families back home. We are expecting great things to happen on this trip as it is a tremendous blessing to the many pastors and leaders that will receive their first visits from outsiders.
