You are out and about at a secluded beach having the time of your life just basking in the sun. No one is around to bother you with the “How are yous?” No kids splashing water all around your little site. Just a gentle breeze through the trees and the salt water smell coming off the Pacific can put a person Book info to sleep. Title: Pacific Vortex! But what happens Author: Clive Cussler when you see a shiny Published: Bantam, in ‘something’ out in the 1983 water? Do you investiPages: 270 (paperback) gate? Or do you leave it alone and let the ocean take care of it? Well, if you are a 6’3” barrel-chested-green eyed man who knows the ocean like the back of his hand, and is curious to boot then you would risk the ocean, the tides to go out and retrieve what is out there. And that ladies and gentlemen was the wrong choice. The Navy loves their ships. Every single one that they have made is a bundle of joy and if anyone... anyone steals one, the Navy will do everything in its power to take it back. Even if it’s to go to the one place man has made a vow to never go. The Hawaiian Vortex. The Hawaiian Vortex is similar to the Bermuda Triangle, taking whatever comes it’s way, however the Hawaiian Vortex destroys families, and turns you into ghosts in a blink of an eye. No Mayday signals ever get through. Except for this one time. This one time when a man who would risk life and limb for a shiny little box out in the great blue yonder. You know of which man I speak. You’ve heard the tales of a man that will stop at nothing to get to the truth of the matter. The man they call Dirk Pitt. Many of you have read about his adventures of the deep blue ocean, or the wild tales of him fighting ancient tribes to unlock the secrets of a jungle. But many don’t know how this man got started. Well now you can. Check out Clive Cussler’s first installment of the Dirk Pitt adventures, Pacific Vortex. Just look both ways before you jump into anything.
