Lieutenant Governor Update June Checklist & PCM STC Recap Summer Service Ideas Key Club Acronyms Contact Information

LTG UPDATE Hey Guys! I hope that you guys have had a great end of the school year and are ready for a summer full of fun and service. I am certain that this summer will be a great one! This past month, I went to Hawaiian Falls for a field trip, took a selfie with a dragon, went to Relay for Life, covered my teacher’s room in wrapping paper, made ice cream from scratch, and rode pretty much every ride at Six Flags because there were no lines to wait in! At the beginning of next month, I will be going to Anaheim, CA for International Convention, and I hope to bring back a lot of information that can help me serve you all. Please let me know if your board is having any summer meetings (which I highly encourage you all to do) so that I could make plans to attend! This past month serving as your Lieutenant Governor has been great, and I look forward to the months to come. Keep me in the loop with everything going on in your club!

Yours in service, Andrew Loh Texas-Oklahoma District Key Club 2014-2015 Lieutenant Governor Region 7, Division 39S Call/Text: 682-551-6461

WHY?! To discuss plans for the summer, complete a service project, and bond as a division! WHERE?! Oliver Nature Park – 1650 Matlock Road, Mansfield, Texas 76063

To have some fun in the sun, I am planning some games for us to play that include water and possibly some venturing through the park, so wear clothes to EXPLORE! The service project we will be doing has to deal with the Children's Miracle Network, where we will be making tissue paper flowers out of tissue paper, obviously, and pipe cleaners! I HOPE YOU ALL CAN MAKE IT! PLEASE EMAIL ME LETTING ME KNOW HOW MANY I SHOULD EXPECT FROM YOUR CLUB!

SPRING TRAINING CONFERENCE RECAP On May 17th, the Region 7 Spring Training Conference took place to train the incoming club officers from Divisions 1N, 1S, 8, 39N, and 39S. I hope all who attended enjoyed themselves and learned something that could be taken back and utilized. If your club did not attend, just let me know. I can set up a day with your officers to train them and help out wherever I am needed!

Region 7 LTG’s: Alisa Prachan An Bui Hunter Snowden Aysha Moneer Andrew Loh

A HUGE thank you goes out to all who attended the Region 7 Spring Training Conference this year! It would not have been successful without you all! (Special thanks to the IP District Board members in attendance)

SUMMER SERVICE IDEAS

It’s not always easy finding service projects during the summer, but here are a few ideas that your club could do in order to remain active! •  FEED THE KIDS FOR THE SUMMER •

The Kiwanis Clubs of Mansfield have partnered with Common Ground Network to provide the kids in Mansfield on the free/reduced lunch program with food over the summer. Every Wednesday, you can help package the food for the kids!

•  Barnes and Noble – Reading to Kids •

Every week children go to Barnes and Noble for Craft Hour where they make crafts and read a story with you! Let Barnes and Noble know that you would like to help if you club is interested and schedule a day to serve the community!

•  Soup Kitchen/Food Bank •

Volunteer at the soup kitchen or food bank every week or two. People are always in need of food, and just because there isn’t a soup kitchen close by doesn’t mean you can’t drive a little!

•  Wesley Mission Center •

Volunteer at the local thrift store by sorting clothes with friends! It may not sound very fun, but I can guarantee you will have fun! Contact the Wesley Mission Center to schedule your visit!

•  Children’s Miracle Network •

You can write cards or create toys or crafts for children in the hospital! All you have to do is make them with a group of people while having fun, and donate the items to a local hospital.

Let me know if you would like to know more about any of these service opportunities!
