HEMPSTED | GLOUCESTER

Eight unique homes inspired by the historic Newark farmstead and barns

Don’t just choose a home, choose your lifestyle Steeped in heritage and outstanding natural beauty, our exclusive new development – Newark Barns – offers village living with city benefits. The village of Hempsted is just 1.5 miles from Gloucester’s vibrant city centre however, the nearby rolling meadows and rural charm evokes the feeling you could be a world away. Standing next to the River Severn, with the Gloucester to Sharpness Canal half a mile equidistant, its backdrop is an expanse of stunning countryside and the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral. Gloucester itself delivers everything you’d expect from city life – with lively wharfs and docks housing an array of bars, restaurants, antique stores and art galleries, cinema and Gloucester Quays’ popular waterside leisure and outlet shopping. In the City Centre there’s further shopping and leisure facilities for everyone, including

the GL1 Sports Centre, with its pools and health spa, and of course the great Gloucester Rugby at Kingshom Road, as well as a dry ski slope at Robinswood Hill. For travel further afield, Gloucester railway station is just 2 miles away with connections to Cheltenham, Bristol, Worcester, Cardiff, Birmingham, London and the north. Meanwhile the M5 provides access north and south at junctions 11A and 12 both within 6 miles. The Forest of Dean lies to the west of the city, providing stunning scenery, walks and cycle trails, while the Cotswold hills lie to the north and east boasting beautiful villages such as Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Painswick and Nailsworth to name but a few.

This highly sought-after and picturesque village boasts a wonderful community atmosphere, a primary school, shop and church all within walking distance of Newark Barns. Enjoy the splendour of country living, without compromising on convenience. A beautiful blend of both worlds – Newark Barns isn’t just somewhere to live, it’s a lifestyle.

Somewhere near the middle of the open fields was the village itself. It might include a church and a castle or manor house; there would be a green – rectangular or triangular, or elongated as common land, and each farmstead site was set in a larger plot or croft comprising of a farmyard, garden, orchard etc.
