The Osogbo School of Art was started in Osun State Nigeria. Spearheaded by Austrian artist Susan Wenger in the early 1950's, the Osogbo School produced many notable artists, among these are Nike Davies, Chief Buraimoh, Chief Muraina Oyelami and Twins Seven Seven. This school was a major influence on the work of Picasso and other contemporary 20th century artists. This is evidenced in the similarity in color palette, cubist figures and shapes, and other prominent features found in works created within the Western European contemporary art world in the middle of the 20th century. Volunteers from the Hoosier Canoe Club will encourage you try their boats and teach you basic paddle skills and safety tips. Every first Wednesday of each month, Kids have the opportunity to learn kayaking techniques for FREE. Must register two weeks in advance.
