HELP THE HOMELESS THIS WEEKEND Buy a ticket for Saturday this Saturday and give the perfect Christm as present Leeds United fans are being encouraged to help the homeless this weekend by donating their discarded match tickets in exchange for a Christmas meal. The club are asking fans to donate used match tickets from the Barnsley fixture to homeless people around the city, and St George’s Crypt will redeem each ticket for a hot meal and the opportunity to talk to a member of staff. It’s hoped that the initiative will not only provide those who need it with a meal ticket, but will also increase awareness about the homeless plight within the city. Leeds United managing director David Haigh said: “As a football club we really want to make a difference to the city, and we’re hoping our fans will take up the Christmas meal ticket offer and help us in our quest. “We’re asking our fans to be vigilant and actively look out for homeless people within the city, and to help them. St George’s Crypt does a fantastic job within the city, and its work cannot be underestimated. We are hoping this meal ticket incentive will increase both awareness of the plight of homeless people and of the Crypt itself.” Quotes from the Crypt: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The match tickets will be valid until 31 January 2014. They can be redeemed in the same way as the Give Me Some Credit Vouchers for a hot meal; Monday to Friday at 12noon at St George’s Crypt. Due to pre-arranged events at the Crypt the vouchers cannot be used on 25, 26 and 30th December and 1 January 2014. As part of the continuing partnership between the club and St George’s Crypt, there will also be a collection held around the stadium on Saturday.
