Canal Edge as City Facade Rotherham Regeneration Visitor Centre is a cultural regeneration project as a meeting point between contemporary society and cultural heritage. The project aims to transform the canal into city facade to celebrate the arrival of visitor and repond to flooding risk with onstlit structure. The scheme reveals the digital preservation program as alternative conservation of cultural heritages beyond material preservation, while the disconnection and incomplete information of existing cultural infrastructure requires a core platform for information exchange and high accessibility of all contents. The interplay of the old and new will not only become a gateway to the town by sharing the identity of place but also destination of waterfront loop. The old chapel is then not lost memories but a new form of legacy.

Architectural Assistant in Perkhidmatan Arkitek Based on previous working experience, I have been involved from working on large scale building plan to determining the location of column guards for driveways and parking area. My diverse job scopes allowed me to engage with the process from design proposal to construction. To deliver the most appropriate architecture, the team must now only focus on determining the business goals but also on clarifying the functional requirements and professional ethics. Therefore, the role of architect is more than just being a coordinator to negotiate with building team members but also an educator to suggest client for appropriate decision making. Every experience helps me to define and redirect my career path. The image is only for project reference purpose.

Beneath the Park The conceptual notion of “Beneath the Park is to ensure the proposed art gallery will read the rest of contet and harmonise the scale of overall urban massing. Therefore, this art gallery becomes a transition for its surroundings to drop in scale and create a sense of balance and fit into existing neighbourhoods. Rather than infill another solid cube in the middle of the enclosure, the design approach will be more emphasized on fluidity, soft element, and accessibility to create a urban nucleus for community to uterllise the art gallery as third space. It is a place you want to visit, experience, or live in by using architecture as a catalyst to stimulate Chinatown to be more vibrant.

Green Retreat Centre The gently reclining structure integrates naturally with the surroundings forming a stepping silhouette with expansive views across the site. With the concept of ‘silhouette’, it defines shape, direction, relative distance from the eye and position of light source. Then a shilouette of sloping site certainly can define the contrast between the highest and lowest position on site and in-between spaces. Skillfully placed along the entrance drive, the lobby celebrates the arrival of visitors with unobstructed views of the surrounding area. The water feature enhances the sense of hearing with the sound of flowing water that stimulates visitors’ curosity. The relationship between inside and outside of the chalets embraces the landscape by blurring the boundaries between man-made and nature.
