FORD FALCON RACING OUR DRIVER - SIMON TRAVALIGNI

Ford Falcon Racing has been in the business of racing for over 20 years. Team owner and driver Simon Travaglini began his racing career in the early 1990’s building cars from scratch and racing when his budget allowed, during which time he has become a well known identity within the drag racing circuit. It was back in 2001 while working with one of drag racing’s stalwarts, Victor Bray, when Simon realised that the future of drag racing existed in Top Doorslammer. This is the category the crowd can really relate to, being that despite their speed and obvious safety features, these cars still resemble cars that the fans actually own. That same year, SBS television approached Simon for his assistance with the FAT PIZZA TV series. So, during the next 3 years Simon put his dream to one side, and worked hard on building and driving many of the vehicles featured on the show, then assisted in promoting the show from coast to coast. In 2007 SBS returned for assistance in making and promoting its new comedy SWIFT & SHIFT. Once again Simon put aside work on his BA Falcon Top Doorslammer, to design, buil and drive a number of vehicles for the show, also appearing on screen when required. 1996: Runner Up Genie Street Machine Series 1999: Runner Up Genie Street Machine Championship 2000: Winner Gascoyne Outlaw Street Championship 2000: Runner Up Motorplex Super Street Championship 2001: Third Place Motorplex Super Street Championship 2001: Winner West Side Super Street Championship 2001: Winner Gascoyne Outlaw Street Championship 2006: Winner Nostalgia Drag Racing Series GAS class 2009: Winner Nostalgia Drag Racing Series GAS class

Finally in 2011, Simon didn’t just license his BA Falcon Top Doorslammer, but set one of Australia’s quickest first full passes for a new car. His 6.59sec @ 366km/h pass is just over half a second under the world record. But that’s just the beginning of what this Top Doorslammer can do with Simon behind the wheel. Simon has an extensive list of achievements that are too numerous to mention, but this only shows his commitment to researching and testing the boundaries of cutting edge technology. This endeavour to break new ground is shown not only with his own cars but also with the components he has built for his customer’s cars, and the advice he is so often called upon to provide to other racers.

With his seemingly endless achievements both on and off track, his experience as a public speaker, actor and business owner, and his highly held regard within the drag racing community, you can guarantee your company will be well represented.
