We do activites as sports, short film festivals, photography competitions, music festivals, talks, etc. The fraternity is run by the students giving them the opportunity of developing their skills.

2012 Studio trip to Ethiopia. Addis Abeba, Harar, Lalibela The trip took place as part of Studio IV. We were developing our projects in three cities of Ethiopia.
The objetive of the trip was to better understand the culture and architecture of the country and exchange ideas with ethiopian students of architecture. We visited some places as Lalibela Rock Churches, Harar Churches and traditional homes, Addis Abeba slums, biggest outdoor market in Africa and the school of architecture.
2012 Trip to Germany. Berlin Trip realized with architecture students to learn about the architecture of the city. We visit some buildings as the Berlin Philharmonic
(Hans Scharoun), Jewish Museum Berlin (Daniel Libeskind), Reichstag (Norman Foster), Neue National Gallery in Berlin (Mies van der Rohe), Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (Peter Eisenman), Bauhaus Archive (Walter Gropius).
2011 Studio trip to UK. London The trip took place as part of Studio III. The objective of the trip was to visit the site of our project in London and the architecture of
the city as the Tate Modern (Herzog & de Meuron), Laban Dance Centre (Herzog & de Meuron), London Metropolitan University (Daniel Libeskind), Millennium Bridge (Foster & Partners), London City Hall (Foster & Partners).
2010 Studio trip to Egypt. Luxor, Cairo The trip took place as part of Studio I. The objective was to visit the ancient architecture of Egyp, visit the sites of out projects and
exchange ideas with egyptian students of architecture. The trip started at Luxor, going down throught the Nile river and ending in Cairo.
2009 Trip to Portugal. Oporto Trip realized with architecture students to learn about the architecture of the city and exchange ideas and impresion with portuguese
architecture students. We visit some places as Casa da Musica (Rem Koolhas), Architecture School, Serralves Fundation, Leca de Palmeira pools, Boa Nova restaurant (Alvaro Siza), Dom Luis Bridge (Eiffel).
2008 Trip to Italy. Roma, Pisa, Florencia, Siena Trip realized with architecture students to learn about the architecture of the country specially focusing in roman architecture,
renascence and baroque architecture. We visit some buildings as the Coliseum, Trajano market, Caracalla hot springs, Panteon, San Pedro vatican, San Pietro in Montorio, San Carlo alle quattro fontane, Santa Maria della Fiore dome, Santa Maria Novella, Ospedale degli Innocenti, palazzo Pitti, Pisa towe, baptistery of Pisa, among others.
2004-present Trip to Spain. I have been traveling around Spain to cities as Barcelona, Madrid, Granada, Bilbao, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Sevilla, Cuenca,
Salamanca, Zaragoza, Gijón, Toledo, Oviedo, San Sebastian among other cities to learn and understand about the architecture of my country that displays a wide range from muslim architecture, romanesque, gothic, renaicense and modern architecture.

DANCE CAMP PERRY MANSFIELD STUDIO VII (IIT)
[ STEAMBOAT-SPRINGS, COLORADO, EEUU ] Colaboration between IIT and SOM office to develop a project for Perry-Mansfield dance camp. We where ask to develop and stage with all the facilities needed for the performances. This building would be the one facing the public and the entrance for the camp. The project proposal is a flexible stage compose by pieces, allowign the owners to create different kinds of stages depending on the performance that wants to be play. The building want to be a point in the landscape, enough strong to capture the attention but not to big to compite with it. That’s the main reason of the shape of the roof and that part of the building is buried.

The goal of this project is to develop a new area for the Campus of Montegancedo that belongs to the Polithecnic University of Madrid. Montegancedo is located in the middle of a big green area where the topography is quite steep, things will be taken into consideration when developing the project. The forum will be situated in the middle of the campus surrounded a small lake. With this situation the forum aims to be not only a meeting place for students but also a connecting element between different campus buildings (which today are scattered and quite far from each other).

The proposal is develop in Ethiopia. One of the chagenges of this studio was not only develop and hybrid building, with a extense programm but also the challenge of working in a foreignan country. Caテアo Roto is located southwest of Madrid. The district was created in 1950 in an attempt to end the growing slums in the city. Caテアo Roto was an absorption neighbourhood; a new neighbourhood that will alsorb the slum of the area. The urban design studio goal was to redevelop this area wich outline and houses had become obsolete and disconected to the city. Some of the ideas that the propososal tries to achieve are; to promote the main acces to the area; to diversify and optimize the vegetation; to conect the tissues in the area (introducing a new road structure); to create to main axis (responsible of the join the major area cores); to fix the deficit of facilities (a nursery, a cultural center and a retirement home is proposed); to develop a bike path and to diversify the types of homes.

BUILDING THE CITY TOWER, LOUIS I KAHN CONSTRUCTION STUDIO (ETSAM)

Louis Kahn and Anne Tyng collaborated on the futuristic City Tower, designed for Philadelphia in the late 1950s but never built. Khan has always looked for a continuous structure worthy of being exposed, that’s why the City Tower is a form as pure result of a structure. We where asked to understand the structure to explain how it works and make floor plans and sections of the tower. It was a big and interesting challenge becouse there’s only one model of the tower and a few sketches that can did. Has we see in the right photos there’s different ways to understand the structure; as a 2D structure (as usual) and as a 3D structure. This 3D structure is the main reason that this is a (R) evolutionary structure.
CONSTRUCTION EXECUTIVE PROJECT SANTA MARIA DE LUJAN CONSTRUCTION STUDIO (ETSAM)

In this course we develop the executive project of the construction of the fraternity Santa Maria de Lujan. We draw the excavation plans, the fundation, the strocture, the facade, and the roof. We also draw details of roof drains, stairs, windows.
