“The Coliseum” by Natalia Navas (3ºA ESO) It is in Italy, specifically in Rome and it is a very special place. It is a symbol of eternity of ancient Rome. It is crowded with tourists. It was built in the first century. It is special because you can perfectly see the best of Roman times and the majesty with which they built the buildings. For me, that is so amazing! I am so interested in how they did that at that time. Moreover, the Coliseum was used for gladiator fights and a big variety of other events, when you are inside you can imagine the spectators screaming while the gladiators were fighting. In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

“London” by María Palomo (3ºA ESO) London is the Capital of England and it's very famous. There are a lot of places to visit, all of them are amazing! Some of them are: • • •

The London Eye. It's famous because it is the highest Wheel in the world. You can see all London from above. There is a famous bus in London, it is red and it has two floors you can take a tour of London. Another really good place to visit is the Buckingham Palace, the Queen lives there! It's very big and beautiful, and you can watch the Changing of the Guard, a ceremony which happens every day outside the palace. The Big Ben is incredibl, it's a great and fantastic clock, very tall. It is the symbol of London.

The typical meal is "fish and chips", and tea is the typical drink. There is a charming neighbourhood called Covent Garden, where you can eat very well. For me all the places in London are equally good.

“The London Eye” by Carlos Sánchez (3ºA ESO) The London Eye, also known as the Millenium Wheel is next to the County Hall and in front of the Defense Ministry. It is a very interesting place to visit, because at it highest point you can see all London under you. It is a very good attraction to go with friends because you enjoy a lot (if you don’t have a fear of heights, of course). Near the wheel, there are three or four cafés and a bus stop for tourists. It’s expensive, but the experience is worthy. As a curiosity, it was opened to the public on March 3rd, the day of my second birthday!

“Valencia” by Ricardo Beltrán (3ºA ESO) Valencia is the capital of the community of Valencia. Valencia is very big and you can go by train, by car or by plane. It's a really good place to people who like science because there you can visit the Science Park of Valencia and the oceanographic. I don't know anything special about the weather but it is certain that it is good. You can go to the beach, and if you like football you can go to Mestalla, the Valencia's stadium to watch a football match. You can also go to the theatre. Valencia has a very beautiful old city centre. In summer you can see the F1 urban race. The Science Park is very interesting because one of their rules is "Touch” It is very funny, isn't it? The oceanographic is very beautiful because you can see a lot of see animals and sea plants. You must go to Valencia. It is amazing!

“St. Valentine’s Day Letter” by María Palomo (3ºA ESO) Hello darling, Today is San Valentine! How to tell you all that I love you in a letter? It's impossible to express all my love here. I still remember the first time I saw you, it was incredible, my heart beast fast, and I didn't know what was happening, but I knew you'd get to be special for me. And I was right, today I'm your girl and you are my boy. When you leave, I feel that a part of me goes with you. I have fallen in love with you, and it's the first time I really feel this. I can't compare yourself with anyone, you are the only one that makes me feel so, you are perfect. I don't need anything if you are here with me. I love you so much, I love the way you look at me, and we smile together. And nothing and nobody is going to come between us, I promise. Honey, I love you baby!

“My favourite Carnaval” by María Beltrán (2ºA ESO) The Carnival of the year 2004 was the best. I had a very good time. I was 4 and I dressed up as a devil with my family. We were wearing a red cape, some horns and a trident. I didn’t make up my face because I didn’t like it. But my parents, my brother and my sister had the face red. However, I was the prettiest and the most charming. The street was crowded with people. Everybody was having fun and they were dancing. The majority of the people were children. There were six floats with many colours and a big parade with a lot of people. There were vampires, zombies, princesses, babies, pirates… The parade lasted more than the previous year parade. After that, there was a party for children and a costume competition. I got an award because my costume was the best. The party finished at nine o’clock. I loved this Carnival. For me it was perfect.

“The Carnival of Venice” by Antonio Matas (2ºA ESO) The Carnival of Venice is wonderful. It is the largest carnival in Italy and the most beautiful one in the world. Many people are wearing showy and elegant costumes. There are a lot of colours in them. I’m wearing an elegant Venetian mask. Right now, all the people are beginning to dance. Later, I will go to see St. Mark’s Square Theatre because there is a costume parade.

The whole town is bubbling with excitement and activity. Oh, the parade is beginning. It is fantastic. I can’t believe it! There are some famous dancers and they are doing it very well. Now, everybody is going to the port to choose a Venetian Gondola. They are going to Milano because some people are having a very nice party for everybody. Oh, the party is finishing. Everybody must come to Venice because there the party continues. The party will finish at half past twelve.

“My best Carnival” by María José Alcalá (2ºA ESO) This photo is from 2009. I’m wearing a costume of presenter. I’m wearing a costume of presenter. I’m wearing a dark dress, dark high-heeled shoes, dark glasses and in a handbag I had a microphone. In this carnival my uncle and my aunt came to Antequera. My parents and some friends were dressing up with them. The men were dressing up as women and the woman were dressing up as men. My sister was dressing up as a baby and the other children were dressing up as a monster, a ninja and Snow White. We made sandwiches and we went to see the Parade. It was the most beautiful that I had ever seen. There was music and there were dancers and a lot of dressed up people. We fitted in the parade. We were funnier that the other people. We were singing and dancing a lot. I had a very good time!

“The fantastic Carnival” by María Torres (2ºA) The Carnival in Cádiz is on 16th February on the street and on 9th February on the theatre. My mother said to me that I could wear a ghost costume, but my friends and I wanted to wear a cat mask. Finally, I wore a cat mask and It was more beautiful than my last year costume. Later, my friends and I went to the street and the spectacular environment filled the street. There were dancers, special floats and a beautiful parade, funny people and maskers… There were beautiful, funny and fantastic streetlights.

The Carnival in Cadiz is perfect!

¿A quién estaba acariciando?
