Link Age Southwark is a vibrant local charity providing friendly volunteer support to older people and people living with dementia in our community. They work to reduce isolation and loneliness by helping those they support maintain active lives through their befriending service, group activities, transport, light DIY and gardening services. The charity has had to make a significant amount of changes to these services over the past year, in order to ensure they still reach the people who need them. The restrictions have also had a huge impact on their volunteers and the incredibly vital roles they play, as well as the charity’s fundraising efforts, with all their usual in-person events being cancelled last year. Southwark are delighted to be involved in a number of upcoming Open Garden events hosted by local supporters, in aid of the charity. The beautiful Dulwich gardens will open to the public with all proceeds of tickets, refreshments and plant sales going to support Link Age Southwark’s work.
