First prize at contest “12 days of comic” This is considered as one of my first works related to graphism and drawing in a serious manner. At the age of 13, while taking my plastic arts subject at school, the teacher suggested us to submit to a local comic contest. To my surprise at that age, my proposal “Punto y Coma: un dia en el parque acuatico” (“Dot and Comma: a day at the water park”) ended up winning among many other proposals from professional graphic artists of the city.

Drawings of human morphology and portraits The following years, I started to focus on pen and pencil techniques, having my own father as a guide and teacher. I was literally spending my spare time taking all the magazines at home and drawing all the people inside, or just copying photographs taken on family trips. It is my drawings collection before getting into university.

Architecture year 1: Drawings of buildings In graphic analysis and ideation subject in my first year as an architecture student, I carried out some perspective drawings of buildings from within the University of Alicante campus. The use of black pen was compulsory as a way to gain confidence at the drawing process and get minimum mistake.

Architecture year 2: 3D modelling and rendering This was my first approach to 3D visualization by using software as AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, VRay and Photoshop. In digital drawing subject, each student was assigned an existing house project and we had to redraw it in 3D out of the 2D plans and produce new line drawings and interior and exterior renders. Mine was House 0405 in Cyprus by Simpraxis Architects and these are the results:

Architecture Year 3: Drawings of Muller House by Adolf Loos These are a couple drawings I made for a presentation in History of Architecture subject about the Muller House by Adolf Loos. They are hand drawn with some post-production in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Architecture Year 3: Construction details These are some examples of my construction details’ collection made in Basic Construction and Advanced Construction subjects.

Architecture Year 3: Galicia Square’s urban regeneration In Urban Planning 2, we made a regeneration project of a urban space of the city of Alicante. My choice was Galicia Square, a place which is currently lacking of activity and energy despite its key location.

By means of pedestrianizing the area and creating water fountains, sitting spots and pavement lightning, I intend to reactivate the place. Besides, with the objective of attracting the young public, a space for urban theatre and music is also created.

The footprint of the intervention shows a pedestrianized ring that is linked to both north and south part of the area through other elements such as streets and a nearby park. In the center of this, there is the core of the intervention featuring sitting space and light and water elements.

Architecture Year 3: Green Wall Project This is the work of Architectural Projects’ subject. It is situated in the city of Elche (Alicante) and tries to solve several narrow and old streets of the old town. To achieve that purpose, two new squares are proposed where there are two parking lots currently. Those two are provided with two massive green walls covering the dividing walls of the surrounding buildings and are connected by a pedestrian path.

The scope of the project includes 2 current car parks and the streets that links these two. The aim is to regenerate the damaged and old area of the city where they are located.

Architecture Year 4: Alicante North Access In the subject of Urban Planning 4, we were said to make a landscape design project on each of the accesses of Alicante. My group was chosen to study the north access, including 2 main roads and a mountain between them. The proposal includes the creation of several paths aimed to walkers and cyclists on the mountain mentioned, an elevated crossing which connects that intervention with the green infrastructure of the city and the development of a new residential area that interacts with the landscape design.

Architecture Year 4: Beyond the skin This is the work of the first semester of architectural projects. Starts with an analysis of 2 projects of the architect Renzo Piano and the abstraction of the main elements that define each project. After diverse phases of variation of the projects by applying actions (explode, inside out, multiply‌) and mixing with other projects of the class, we ended up making a series of proposals which conclude on a final design that sums up all the elements that have been treated on previous designs such as translucence and visual hierarchy. Here there are shown some of the drawings and models of this relational design process:

Architecture Year 4: Volvo Ocean Race Pavillion In the subject of Singular Construction Systems, the students were proposed to design a pavilion for the Volvo Ocean Race, coinciding with its celebration in the city of Alicante. The only condition was to design it out of shipping containers. This way, taking into account from modification of containers to transport between ports, each group made a project for a pavillion trying to solve both architectural design and construction techniques applied to containers.

Optional course: Advanced architectural visualization This was the work of a course I took to improve my rendering and post production skills. We were given the render base and were taught to add elements and effects to the scene at an advanced level. These are the results:

Architecture Year 4: Cisterna This was my project of the second semester of Architectural Projects subject. It all started by choosing a Mediterranean country and analysing its traditions and social scenes. I finally chose Tunisia and its Hammam as an origin for my project. After abstracting the defining elements of the hammam, I was said to design a building which should include all these and hold a program related to culture and social events. The main concept of the building is to be an underground cloud which escapes to the street level and interacts with the urban space of Tunis. The interior of the building is completely arranged with movable platforms that define different areas depending on the events or activities that may happen.
