Deborah Lloyd’s Magical Inspiration: Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear
Deborah Lloyd, Chief Creative Officer of Kate Spade New York was inspired by Roald Dahl, a British novelist of Tales of the Unexpected, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection. The Chief Creative Officer enlisted illustrators to sketch vignettes to look like a hotel bar connecting back to the theme and inspiration. The Fall 2015 collection focuses on “Magical Stories” inspiration and “whimsical and fun” clothing, but slightly toned-down compared to the usual Kate Spade collections. The collection includes sensible plaid jackets, skirts, faux-fur accents, and chunky, and crystal-encrusted loafers. The collection’s cocktail attire includes pink brocade, bows, and navy. The Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection is more straightforward and less whimsical than the usual Kate Spade collection, but is still as magical as ever.
The Magical Inspiration
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it. - Roald Dahl
