Interview By Daniel Samperio Paloma Orozco is a 19 years old woman who was born in Mexicali, Baja California. She studied her high school in CETYS Universidad, where she developed a love to mathematics and physics; currently she is studying in UABC the career of renewable energies. Her goals are to work with a company that develops and sells solar panels around the country. 1. Why did you decide to study engineering? I decided to study engineering because I like math and physics as same as I like to create solutions to different problems that already exists and I thinks engineering covers all this things. 2. In what area of engineering are you studying? I´m studying in the area of renewable energies. 3. Does anyone in your family study this career? In my family nobody studies this type of engineering (renewable energies) because is a new career, but my brother is studying engineering in computer science 4. Why did you decided to study that area and no another one? I decided to study this career because is an area where not only I work with stuffs I like that are physics and mathematics but because I´m helping the environment. Something that I like a lot is trying to help other persons, with this career I think I´m putting my grain of sand in the world.

5. How much time do you dedicate to your profession? I do not spend much time in my career because I haven´t finished yet but every time I have free time I search or investigate about it and try to stay informed about new updates of this. 6. What is the thing that you like the most about your profession? The thing I like a lot about my profession is that I´m helping the environment and contributing in it and I learn how stuffs like solar panels or windmills works. 7. Do you think engineers should have a social commitment? All engineers need to have a compromise with the society because they need to thing how they going to help other and how they going to impact in the society. 8. In what industry would you like to work in the future? I will like to work in the industry of solar energies or in the industry of hydraulic energy. 9. Would you recommend this career to other generations? Why? I would like to recommend this career to other generations because is a career where we need more workers in the future, the resources are ending and the good thing about clean energies is that they never going to end, but the society will always going to need energy which means there is going to be work plan.
