MIDTOWN MARTA STATION Public Space Design - Gensler Intern Project
INTENT Being born and raised in Vietnam, early acquainting myself with art in America, I have interwoven the two cultures together in not only my design philosophy but also my life attitude. I believe that a piece of furniture does not only bring comfort, but also raises awareness and appreciation of the users of it. As Alina Wheeler famously said “Design is intelligence made visible, I believe that design is the result of experimental and observational research. I share a strong interest in not only problem solving, but also in human behaviors within the built environment. Creating a space that brings out emotions and affects behaviors is the sole of my passion. My goal is to pursue the interior design profession with a strong background in furniture design.

SITE ANALYSIS
“I work with the ideas of geometrics, mixing hard lines with organic, soft and hard, a mix of masculine and feminine. I like fun, bold and bright prints. I want to create work that is fun and interesting, using unique color combinations. I’m inspired by Yayoi Kusama, Bauhaus, Memphis design, and fashion brands such as Kenzo and Vivienne Westwood. I want the brand to be seen as
young, fresh, bold and graphic.”

Inspired from the word Enigma, a sense of layering will be created using harsh geometric lines on softer, more naturalistic forms.

The ENIGMATIC interior environment begins from the outside, where one is intrigued to make their way into an avant-garde world out of curiosity. Moments of enigma are discovered one after the other in layers, keeping the excitement of the journey consistent.

The company wanted to introduce people to the aromas, textures, and beneficial qualities of loose leaf teas while enlightening them with the history and variety of teas available - and this is how Teavana was born.
GOAL: To be a HEAVEN OF TEA and to the tea lifestyle and wonderful tastes of tea. To provide fresh, high quality teas and the products to serve them To create a unique tea experience in each store by encouraging a positive, healthy outlook for all who enter.

site who how where what A multi-national design and innovation consulting firm delivering human focused solutions with global impact, the company is widely recognized for its multidisciplinary work in research, strategy, innovation, and design. All the departments come together to work side by side on one project, which makes the design process a closed loop.
Based on a circular orientation. Campfire is made out of two basic forms: a circle with a triangle in the center. Circle, which encloses the space, connects people, encourages conversation and has no hierarchy, is highly preferred in collaborative space. The office will also have different working zones overlap each other, creating transitional area, in order to keep the work flow smooth and continuous. Like “Yin and Yang, the design emphasizes the balance of collaborative and focus areas, different levels of privacy and layers of lighting and colors, bringing nature along with its organic shape into the space to support wellbeing.

STRONG INTERACTION WITH NATURE
Mid-century modern style is characterized by ‘strong interaction with nature’ and ‘minimalism’. Nature is introduced into the house through open space, natural light and earthy colors. All the design elements are kept simple but aesthetic and functional. The clients are a couple in their late 50s who enjoy exploring the natural world around them. The design approach is to create a minimal and open space that encourages their social conversations as well as their interactions with nature. At the same time, it will be functional and accessible for their special needs.

Applying the PICTURESQUE GARDEN STYLE is to create an emphasis on the relation between the house and its landscape settings. The design gives more depth to the courtyard and makes it visually balanced as it “comes out from a painting”. COURTYARD [VIEW FROM LIVING ROOM]
