Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve failed forward a few times, each time learning, growing and loving the business experiences and knowledge gained. Today, I'll share marketing tips for small business - a marketing campaign. When you see advertisements, you need to think what are you attracted to in them, why do they speak to you? When I wrote marketing ideas for small business, I owned a franchise working the local area. I was attracted to the business as it enabled me to choose my hours and work around my children's school and their activities. The franchise I had was doing well and I was getting calls from other franchisees for information on my marketing, so I wrote tips in a booklet on marketing ideas for small business. Over the next few blogs, I’ll share some of these tips. What is Marketing? According to Wikipedia, marketing is the process by which companies determine what products or services may be of interest to customers, and the strategy to use in sales, communication and business development. Put simply marketing is the management process that profitably identifies and satisfies the customers’ needs. In small business we maybe a team of one or a larger team but even as a team of one, you need to grow your business via a Marketing Campaign. What is A Marketing Campaign? - It is a specifically defined series of activities used in marketing a new or changed product or services. Effective Marketing - An effective marketing campaign can assist your business to grow quickly implanting a positive image of your business into the minds of the customer. It defines the way your customers perceive your product, service or company. It takes time and effort to plan a good marketing campaign but you need to know your business goals and what you wish to have as an outcome from the campaign. Your marketing campaigns will need to be slotted into your marketing plan, which is a must for all businesses. Creating a Marketing Plan - A well thought out marketing plan will cover the year and include different forms of advertising. The advertisements will fall into any of the categories from free to expensive. It is however not expensive to grow a small business if you choose your marketing methods wisely and work them well.
