Spiritual Awareness, Service and Leadership At Churchie, the route to leadership is defined through service and servant leadership. As an Anglican school we demonstrate our love for God by a life of service to others. In the Boarding School community service is emphasised. As a community, all students participate in the annual Boarders’ half-marathon to raise funds for the Little Miracles program at the Mater Hospital. Other service activities include Meals on Wheels, Australian Red Cross and The Salvation Army to name a few. Chapel is an important part of our weekly routine and boarders participate with prayer, singing and engaging in services. In keeping with the Anglican tradition, services are inclusive, engaging and celebrate student participation. Holy Communion is regularly offered as

well as opportunities for quiet reflection and prayer. Observance of the Seasonal Liturgy (e.g. Pancake Tuesday) is also a feature of worship life in boarding. The School Chaplains are present and available to support members of Churchie’s boarding community. At Churchie the route to leadership is defined through service and servant leadership. Appropriate role modelling in a boarding community is important and valued. The position of House Prefect exists within the School only in the boarding houses. This is to recognise senior boarders for their essential role in assisting and maintaining routines and meeting the boarding community’s expectations.

Boarding Facilities The School’s modern, purpose-built, air-conditioned dormitories are conducive to academic study. They offer greater privacy, wireless internet access in each cubicle and increased storage space to enable a clutter-free environment.

06

Individual rooms are provided to boarders from Years 10 to 12. Although high levels of privacy are provided, our emphasis on community living, participation and respect for each other is reinforced daily.

The self-service dining hall is spacious and contemporary and offers a variety of nutritious meals ranging from hot breakfasts to various cuisines based on theme nights.

As a community, we dine together at breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner. Meal times at the boarding house combine a family atmosphere with an emphasis on appropriate social behaviour.
