AN EYE-OPENING ARTICLE YOU MUST READ If you suffer from a health problem and have considered seeing a chiropractor, this could be the most eye-opening article you’ll ever read. Imagine for a moment that it’s 6 months from today ... You’re enjoying what you love to do ... playing golf, playing with the kids, grandkids, or maybe just laying on a beach somewhere. You’re free of the pain and health issues that were holding you back. You have more energy, better health, and absolutely no pain. Does this sound too good to be true -- to live pain free, like you were in your younger years? My name is Dr. Derek Bell. Between my brother and I, we have been practicing here for over 18 years now. Since then, we’ve used gentle chiropractic treatments to help thousands in our community feel better and live healthier, more productive lives. “Isn’t Chiropractic Just For Back Pain?” We can help conditions like ... • Headaches and Migraines • Asthma and Allergies • Numbness in the Arms and Legs • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome • Athletic Injuries • Car Accidents • Shoulder, Hip and Knee Pain • And much more ....

There’s an endless list of health problems chiropractic can help with. For example, here’s what a recent study on chiropractic and high blood pressure found. “This procedure has the effect of not one, but two blood-pressure medications given in combination .. And it seems to be adverseevent free. We saw no side effects and no problems,” said study leader George Bakris, MD, director of the University of Chicago hypertension center. To find out if chiropractic can help you, I’m running a special offer. For 15 days only, $27 will get you all the services that normally could cost you $150 or more elsewhere! Offer expires September 7, 2012. What does this offer include? Everything I normally do in my new patient evaluation. Take a look at what you will receive: • An in-depth consultation about your health where I will listen ... really listen. • A complete nerve, muscle and spinal exam to find the “cause” of your problem. • A full set of specialized x-rays (if necessary) to look for misalignments, bad posture, and joint degeneration. (NOTE: These would normally cost you at least $100). • A thorough analysis of your exam and x-ray findings so we can map out your plan to better health. I’ll answer all your most probing questions about chiropractic and what it can do for you. We are Affordable Chiropractic Life Centers - Derby and are located at 7008 Erie Rd. (in the Chapel Villa complex). Our phone number is 947-4950. Give us a call today ... we can help you!

ARE YOU AN ANGOLA POET SUPERSTAR?

Homegrown poet, Liz Mariani (a Lake Shore 1992 graduate), who is currently traveling in Central America, has started a blog for new poets from and in Angola, New York. Check it out at www.AngolaPoetSuperstar.word press.com. You can also check out her website at www. PoetLizMariani.com. “I started the blog to say thank you to the hometown I love dearly and to help inspire and learn from the creative people coming from or living in Angola, New York. Building bridges is important. There are many creative people from Angola. Lake Shore is also a great school with a fabulous English Department full of encouraging and supportive teachers. I’m sure you’re going to hear about more creative stemming from this special community. ________

Students of Mr. Smelser’s Life Skills Class are eagerly waiting for the start of the school year so they can get started with another year of exciting activities. They have several Community Events planned with the first being the Ford Drive 4UR School Program. Last year was the first year we were accepted so we really didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be an overwhelming success, stated Janice Catalano, Occupational Therapist with the HS program. We teamed up with the West Herr Ford Motor Company, and people test drove a new Ford vehicle of their choice. For every test drive, a donation from Ford was made to our program. We were able to make a $500 donation to our Boys & Girls Club, and fund other Community Service Projects such as the VFW Turkey Drive, and making handmade ornaments for Lakewood Nursing Home. The class as a whole, with guidance from their teacher Tim Smelser & other staff, chose activities/events and planned accordingly. Their ultimate activity that is anticipated is their year-end class trip. They know that in order to be able to do the things they choose, hard work from the entire class is expected. All students in our program have a special role to fulfill for each task, enabling each one to take pride in their final projects. This is evident by the big grin you see when anyone asks them about their work. In addition to completing the specific job, emphasis is placed on positive Character Traits such as Respect, Kindness, Community Serve, and Team Work. Lessons are not only taught but are experienced firsthand on what it means to be part of their Community. West Herr Ford and the Lake Shore High School Life Skills Program will again sponsor this event on Saturday, September 15th at approximately 11 am-just after the Weiner Run. Look for signs around Connor’s Hot Dog Stand. Volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions & guide participants. One member per household test drives a vehicle of choice = $20 donation to program (an extra $20 if they also drive the Ford Escort). Each participant must have on hand a NYS Driver’s License and fill out a simple registration form. Those under age 18 may need an adult with them. This is FREE for those who sign up. Please help support this year’s Ford 4u program. It’s a WIN-WIN opportunity. ________

EVANS E-WASTE RECYCLING EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS

In six (6) months time, the Town of Evans residents have participated in recycling over 43,884 pounds of e-waste. That translates into almost 22 tons of toxic materials being diverted from landfills and incinerators. In February, Evans Councilman Paul Cooper spearheaded an effort to establish an e-recycling drop-off point located behind the Town of Evans Water Department located at 8752 Delamater Road. Residents can drop off electronic waste in large gaylord bins (sturdy corrugated pallet boxes used to hold recycling materials) to be properly recycled. The e-waste drop-off gives Evans residents the opportunity to properly discard computer equipment and electronics. “We wanted to be pro-active in dealing with hazardous waste, given that beginning January 1, 2012, waste collection companies, will no longer be able to collect electronic waste for disposal, or dispose of any electronic waste in a landfill,” said Evans Councilman Paul Cooper. “We knew it would be a valuable service to the residents,” he said. This project is a collaborative effort by the Town of Evans and Regional Computer Recycling & Recovery (RCRR) of Victor, which collects the electronic waste on an as needed basis and compensates the town 8.6 cents per pound. Electronic waste recycling facilities separate, dismantle or process the materials, components or commodities contained in electronic waste, and prepare them for use in new products. For additional information about the type of electronic waste accepted, please visit the Town of Evans website at: www.townofevans.org (document center). ________

SUMMER PICNIC AND HYMN SING

Lake Shore Association of Christian Churches and Operation Good Neighbor held their annual Summer Picnic and Hymn sing at Camp Pioneer on Sunday, August 19. Barbecue chicken was provided by Wes Sparacio and the OGN and Lake Shore community members contributed pot luck dishes to complete the menu. The food was excellent. Chris Panfil provided the hymns and guitar accompaniment for the Hymn Sing. It also was wonderful. Camp Pioneer provided a wonderful setting in their Wendt Shelter and God gave us unbeatably comfortable weather in this summer of extreme heat. A very good time was had by all who attended. ________

LEGAL NOTICE

ESTOPPEL NOTICE The resolution, a summary of which is published herewith, has been adopted on the 21st day of August, 2012, and the validity of the obligations authorized by such resolution may be hereafter contested only if such obligations were authorized for an object or purpose for which the Evans-Brant (Lake Shore) Central School District, Erie County, New York is not authorized to expend money or if the provisions of law which should have been complied with as of the date of publication of this notice were not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity is commenced within twenty (20) days after the date of publication of this notice, or such obligations were authorized in violation of the provisions of the constitution. Kristine DeMartino, District Clerk Evans-Brant (Lake Shore) Central School District SUMMARY OF REFUNDING BOND RESOLUTION The resolution is entitled “REFUNDING BOND RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF EVANS-BRANT (LAKE SHORE) CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, ERIE COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”) AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REFUNDING BONDS OF THE DISTRICT IN AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $6,635,000 PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL FINANCE LAW, AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS IN RELATION THERETO AND THE PAYMENT OF THE BONDS TO BE REFUNDED THEREBY” SECTION 1. Based on the recommendation of Capital Markets Advisors LLC, the financial advisory firm retained by the District, the Board of Education determined to undertake a refunding of the Refunded Bonds, through the issuance of refunding bonds of the District, such refunding bonds to be offered and sold at public sale. SECTION 2. For the object or purpose of refunding the $5,775,000 outstanding principal balance of the Refunded Bonds, including providing moneys which together with the interest earned from the investment of certain of the proceeds of the refunding bonds therein authorized, shall be sufficient to pay (a) the principal amount of the Refunded Bonds, (b) the aggregate amount of unmatured interest payable on the Refunded Bonds to and including the date or dates on which the Refunded Bonds which are optionally redeemable are to be called for redemption prior to their respective maturities in accordance with the refunding financial plan, (c) the redemption premiums payable on the Refunded Bonds which are to be called for redemption prior to their respective maturities, (d) the costs and expenses incidental to the issuance of the refunding bonds therein authorized, including without limitation the development of the refunding financial plan, costs and expenses of executing and performing the terms and conditions of the Escrow Contract, (as defined in Section 6 of the resolution), and fees and charges of the Escrow Holder (as defined in Section 6 of the resolution), financial advisory fees, printing fees and legal fees and (e) the premium or premiums for a policy or policies of municipal bond insurance or other form of credit enhancement facility or facilities for the refunding bonds therein authorized, or any portion thereof, there are authorized to be issued the School District Refunding (Serial) Bonds, 2012 of the District in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $6,335,000 pursuant to the provisions of Sections 90.00 and 90.10 of the Local Finance Law (the “Refunding Bonds”), it being currently anticipated that the amount of Refunding Bonds actually to be issued will be approximately $6,035,000 as described in Section 6 of the Resolution. The Refunding Bonds shall be dated as of such date as shall hereinafter be determined by the President of the Board of Education of the District pursuant to Section 6 of the Resolution, and shall be of the denomination of $5,000 or any integral multiple thereof not exceeding the principal amount of each respective maturity. The Refunding Bonds shall mature annually and shall bear interest payable semi-annually on such dates as shall be determined by the President of the Board of Education of the District pursuant to Section 6 of the Resolution, at the rate or rates of interest per annum as may be necessary to sell the same, all as shall be determined by the President of the Board of Education of the District. Notwithstanding anything in the resolution to the contrary, the Refunding Bonds shall only be issued by the District if the refunding of the Refunding Bonds will result in present value savings as determined in accordance with the methodology set forth in Section 90.10(b)(2) of the Local Finance Law. SECTION 3. The President of the Board of Education of the District, as the chief fiscal officer, is delegated all powers of the Board of Education with respect to agreements for credit enhancement, derived from and pursuant to Section 168.00 of the Local Finance Law, for said Refunding Bonds, including, but not limited to the determination of the provider of such credit enhancement facility or facilities and the terms and contents of any agreement or agreements related thereto. SECTION 4. The Refunding Bonds shall be executed in the name of the District by the manual or facsimile signature of the President of the Board of Education of the District, and a facsimile of its corporate seal shall be imprinted thereon and attested by the District Clerk. The Refunding Bonds shall contain the recital required by Section 90.10(j)(4) of the Local Finance Law and the recital of validity clause provided for in Section 52.00 of the Local Finance Law and shall otherwise be in such form and contain such recitals as the President of the Board of Education of the District shall determine. SECTION 5. It was determined that: (a)

The maximum amount of the Refunding Bonds authorized to be issued pursuant to the resolution does not exceed the limitation imposed by Section 90.10(b)(1) of the Local Finance Law;

(b) The maximum period or periods of probable usefulness permitted by law at the respective times of the issuance of the Refunded Bonds for each of the objects or purposes for which the Refunded Bonds were issued is as shown upon Exhibit A attached to the resolution. (c) In accordance with Section 90.10(c)(1) of the Local Finance Law, the last installment of the Refunding Bonds will mature not later than the expiration of the maximum period of probable usefulness determined as of the date of issuance of the Refunding Bonds, of the specific objects or purposes for which the Refunded Bonds were issued or, in the alternative, the weighted average remaining period of probable usefulness of the objects or purposes (or classes of objects or purposes) financed with all the Refunded Bonds. (d) The estimated present value of the total debt service savings anticipated as a result of the issuance of the Refunding Bonds, computed in accordance with the provisions of Section 90.10(c)(1) of the Local Finance Law, is as shown in the Refunding Financial Plan described in Section 6 of the Resolution. SECTION 6. The financial plan for the refunding authorized by the resolution (the “Refunding Financial Plan”), showing the sources and amounts of all moneys required to accomplish such refunding, and the estimated present value of the total debt service savings computed in accordance with the requirements of Section 90.10(b)(2)(a) of the Local Finance Law are set forth in Exhibit B attached to the resolution. The Refunding Financial Plan has been prepared based upon the assumption that the Refunding Bonds will be issued in the principal amount of $6,035,000 and that the Refunding Bonds will mature, be of such terms, and bear interest as set forth in Exhibit B. This Board of Education recognizes that the amount of the Refunding Bonds, and the maturities, terms, and interest rate and rates borne by the Refunding Bonds to be issued by the District will most probably be different from such assumptions and that the Refunding Financial Plan will also most probably be different from that attached hereto as Exhibit A. The President of the Board of Education is authorized and directed to determine the actual amount of the Refunding Bonds to be issued (not in excess of the maximum principal amount authorized by Section 2 of the resolution), the amount of the Refunded Bonds to be refunded, the details as to the redemption of the Refunded Bonds, including the date and amount of such redemption or redemptions and authorizing and directing the Escrow Holder described in Section 7 to cause notice of such redemption or redemptions, the date of the Refunding Bonds, and the date of issue, maturities and terms thereof, the provisions relating to the redemption of Refunding Bonds prior to maturity, whether the Refunding Bonds shall provide for substantially level or declining debt service as authorized by Section 21.00 of the Local Finance Law, whether the Refunding Bonds will be insured by a policy or policies of municipal bond insurance or otherwise enhanced by a credit enhancement facility or facilities, the terms of the public sale of the Refunding Bonds to the purchaser thereof, the amount of the annual installments of the Refunding Bonds to be paid pursuant to Section 90.10(c)(3) of the Finance Law, whether the Refunding Bonds shall be sold at a discount in the manner authorized by Section 57.00(e) of the Local Finance Law, and the rate or rates of interest to be borne thereby, and to prepare, or cause to be provided, a final Refunding Financial Plan for the Refunding Bonds, and, pursuant to Sections 50.00 and 56.00 of the Local Finance Law, all powers in connection therewith were delegated to the President of the Board of Education; provided that the terms of the Refunding Bonds to be issued, including the rate or rates of interest borne thereby, shall comply with the requirements of Sections 90.00 and 90.10 of the Local Finance Law. The President of the Board of Education of the District shall file with the District Clerk not later than the date of issuance of the Refunding Bonds, as therein provided, (a) a certificate determining the details of the Refunding Bonds and the final Refunding Financial Plan and (b) the Certificate of the State Comptroller setting forth the present value of the total debt service savings, as required by Section 90.10(g) of the Local Finance Law. SECTION 7. The President of the Board of Education of the District is authorized and directed to enter into an escrow contract (the “Escrow Contract”) with a bank or trust company located and authorized to do business in this State as the President shall designate (the “Escrow Holder”) for the purpose of having the Escrow Holder act, in connection with the Refunded Bonds, as the escrow holder to perform the services described in Section 90.10 of the Local Finance Law. SECTION 8. The faith and credit of said District are irrevocably pledged for the payment of the principal of and interest on the Refunding Bonds therein authorized as the same respectively become due and payable. An annual appropriation shall be made in each year sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on such bonds becoming due and payable in such year. There shall annually be levied on all the taxable real property of the District, a tax sufficient, after taking into consideration the amount of building aid to be received by the District from the State of New York for debt service on the Refunding Bonds, to pay the principal of and interest on such bonds as the same become due and payable. SECTION 9. (a) All of the proceeds from the sale of the Refunding Bonds, including the premium, if any (the “Proceeds of the Refunding Bonds”), shall immediately upon receipt thereof be placed in escrow with the Escrow Holder for the Refunded Bonds. From the Proceeds of the Refunding Bonds, the portion thereof as is necessary to pay the outstanding principal amount of the Refunded Bonds, the aggregate amount of unmatured interest on the Refunded Bonds to and including the respective maturity dates or redemption dates thereof as set forth in the final Refunding Financial Plan prepared by the President in accordance with Section 6 of the resolution, and the redemption premiums, if any, payable on the Refunded Bonds on such redemption dates, (such amount being hereinafter referred to as the “Escrow Deposit Amount”) shall be deposited in the escrow deposit fund to be established pursuant to the Escrow Contract, and either held in cash or invested in direct obligations of the United States of America or in obligations, the principal of and interest on which are unconditionally guaranteed by the United States of America, which obligations shall mature or be subject to redemption at the option of the holder thereof not later than the respective dates such moneys will be required to make payments in accordance with the final Refunding Financial Plan. Amounts held on deposit in the Escrow Fund, whether in the form of cash or investments, or both, inclusive of any interest earned from the investment thereof, shall be irrevocably committed and pledged to the payment of the principal of, interest on, and redemption price of the Refunded Bonds in accordance with Section 90.10 of the Local Finance Law, and the holders, from time to time, of the Refunded Bonds shall have a lien upon such monies held by the Escrow Holder. Such pledge and lien shall become valid and binding upon the issuance of the Refunding Bonds and the moneys and investments held by the Escrow Holder for the Refunded Bonds in the Escrow Fund shall immediately be subject thereto without any further act. Such pledge and lien shall be valid and binding as against all parties having claims or any kind in tort, contract or otherwise against the District irrespective of whether such parties have notice thereof. Neither the resolution, the Escrow Contract, nor any other instrument relating to such pledge and liens, need be filed or recorded. (e) After depositing the Escrow Deposit Amount into the Escrow Fund, in accordance with paragraph (a) above, the remaining balance, if any, of the Proceeds of the Refunding Bonds not so deposited shall immediately upon receipt thereof, be placed in escrow with the Escrow Holder for the Refunded Bonds and deposited in the expense fund to be established under the Escrow Contract by the Escrow Holder to pay, to the President of the Board of Education of the District, as chief fiscal officer, or as the President of the Board of Education may direct and applied to pay (i) accrued interest on the Refunding Bonds from the dated date thereof to the date of issuance thereof, and (ii) costs of issuance or other administrative costs incurred in connection with the issuance of the Refunding Bonds. SECTION 10. The President of the Board of Education is further authorized to take such actions and execute such documents as may be necessary to ensure the continued status of the interest on the Refunding Bonds, as excludable from gross income for federal income tax purposes pursuant to Section 103 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) and if applicable, to designate the Refunding Bonds authorized by the resolution as “qualified tax-exempt bonds” in accordance with Section 265 of the Code. SECTION 11. The Board of Education determined that issuance of the Refunding Bond is a Type II action that will not have a significant effect on the environment and, therefore, no other determination or procedures under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”) is required.

The evening is sponsored by the New Era Cap Co. of Buffalo and Derby. The company has provided a supply of hats that have been given out each week after the concert 50/50 drawing. The Band is marketing their 30th year as is the Angola Park and Gazebo Committee. The first concert at the park was held on August 24th, 1983. The German band has played all over New York State, in PA., Ohio, Canada and conducted a tour of various locations in Europe. In addition the German and Austrian music the six member group will play alpine horns that are 13 feet long and also present some music on various bells as used with sheep, goats, cows, etc! The group will soon start the Oktober Fest season during which they play all over Western New York. The rain location for the last concert of the season will be the New Angola Theater on North Main Street. BrantEvans Girl Scouts sell refreshments at the park and the ice cream man has been making a stop at the park each week. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the last concert of the season. ________

“FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION”

The present Angola Wesleyan Church had its humble beginning as a Bible study in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Shields on Bennett Road, November 29, 1962. The study was led by Rev. and Mrs. Richard Kaylor. Four months later, the group, now numbering sixty-seven, held its first Worship Service at the Lake Erie Beach Fire Hall. The Evans Land Corporation donated a three acre plot of land on Herr Road for the new church in June of 1963. Rev. Kaylor preached the first sermon in the Angola Wesleyan Church on Easter Sunday, April 18, 1965. When Rev. Richard Kaylor retired in 1985, Rev. Bernard Roof became the new pastor until his retirement in 1995. Rev. Roger Thompson became the new minister until 2003 when he was succeeded by Rev. Michael Poore. When Rev. Poore moved to South Carolina in June of 2011, Rev. Richard Wollan became our new pastor and will conduct the services for the fiftieth anniversary celebration on September 2, 2012. A Fellowship Coffee Hour will begin at 9:30 am, followed by the Worship Service at 10:30 am and a Reception for past ministers and guests at 11:30 am. The members of the Angola Wesleyan Church wish to extend an invitation to all of our neighbors in the Angola area to join with us in our celebration of fifty years of service to our community in the name of our Lord. ________

The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Shore, a unit of the Boys and Girls Club of Eden, will kick-off its annual “It Just takes One” campaign on September 1, 2012 to raise much needed operating dollars to support programming for 2012/2013. The Club will begin its second year of serving area youth on September 4, 2012, which is the first day of school. The success of the IJTO campaign is essential to the operation of the Club. While membership costs are low for families to attend the Club, it costs the organization much more to put one young person through the programs. The Boys and Girls Club does not receive any government subsidy for its operations. Contributions by generous companies, organizations, foundations and individuals are the essential lifeline for us to continue providing proven life-enhancing programs and character development experiences for the youth in our community. “I was able to experience first hand the impact of a Boys and Girls Club in our community,” said Andrea Sunday, Unit Director of the Lake Shore Club. “ My staff and I have literally laughed and cried with these kids. We have had the profound pleasure of watching them work toward realizing their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” she said. The Lake Shore Club, located at W.T. Hoag Educational Center, at 42 Sunset Boulevard, utilizes more than 5,000 square feet of available space in the building for youth programs and activities, serving the Towns of Evans and Brant and the Villages of Angola and Farnham. In 2011/2012, the inaugural year, the Club served over 160 active members, hosting an average of 70 kids each day Monday through Friday. “The community has been very supportive of the Lake Shore Club,” said Cindy Latimore, President of the Boys and Girls of Lake Shore Advisory Council. “We have met many challenges in establishing a Boys and Girls Club in our community, but it has all been worth the time and effort,” said Latimore. “We are confident that the community understands the benefits of the Club and will continue to invest in the Club’s future,” she said. To make a donation, learn about volunteering opportunities or to obtain a membership application, please visit the Club’s web site at www.bgclakeshore.org or contact Andrea Sunday at 926-2119.

BURSTEIN AGAIN URGES INCREASED MOSQUITO AWARENESS

Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein today reminded Erie County residents about the dangers of mosquitoes and West Nile Virus (“WNV”), following the confirmation of a human West Nile virus case in Erie County. While that patient has been treated and is recovering, Burstein once again reminded residents that precautions and preventive measures can help to diminish potential exposure to the virus. “Just like many other communities across the U.S., Erie County has started to see human WNV cases,” Burstein said. “WNV is a potentially serious illness. About one in 150 (less than 1%) of people infected with WNV will develop severe illness with symptoms such as high fever, headache, neck stiffness, and stupor. Up to 20 percent of the people who become infected have flu-like symptoms such as fever, headache, body aches, nausea, and vomiting. Fortunately, about 4 out of 5 people who are infected with WNV will show no symptoms at all.” Burstein continued, ”WNV is a preventable disease and there are steps that people can take to prevent infection, including minimizing mosquito contact with your skin and decreasing the mosquito burden in your immediate area. Use insect repellant containing at least 25% DEET (10% for children) when you can, and wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants especially during the evening hours. There are also ways to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds in your yard, including dumping out standing water, cleaning clogged gutters, and changing the water in your bird bath.” The Erie County Department of Health (“ECDOH”) recommends several other strategies to “fight the bite”, including maintaining your pool by chlorinating and filtering; maintaining ornamental ponds by stocking them with fish and using bubblers and fountains; removing used tires from your property; eliminating any stagnant water in tin cans, plastic containers, or any container that holds water; and repairing window and door screens. Burstein added, “People at higher risk from mosquito bites are the immune-compromised, the elderly, and the very young. Residents should use common sense when they are outside and be aware of the environments that produce and protect mosquitoes: stagnant, standing water and weeds, tall grass and shrubbery, which provide an outdoor home for mosquitoes. Dress appropriately, use insect repellant, and eliminate or stay away from mosquitoprone areas where you can. Parents should remember to ensure their children are protected too.” _______

Dear Michelle, It has been 10 long years since we have seen you. The time has gone quickly, but we have missed you every single day. Many things have changed since you have been gone. You are an aunt 3 times; Dad and I have gotten older and miss you more; Grandpa & Grandma have moved out here. We just would like you to know that family and friends have kept you in their memories. Your bravery and courage inspires me every day to help others. I only wish I could have helped you more ... Your little brother Jay. My memory of Michelle is her laugh! I wish we could have cooked together. I always heard of her great recipes. One other thing I remember is her shopping & buying tons of Halloween stuff! She would have been a great aunt, and we miss her so much! ... Stacy. I wish you were alive & could come to my hockey games, and I know you would spoil me ... Sam. I wish I could be as good as you were in gymnastics ... Your only niece Sophia. I love you Aunt Michelle ... Bryce. We miss your laughter, your presence and your love. Memories of you will be everlasting ... Grandpa & Grandma Mattina. Michelle, you always treated us with care & compassion regardless of our age ... Aunt Jenny. She was always smiling and pleasant; you never knew she was hurting ... Aunt Jenny & Uncle Rocky. I remember Michelle always being happy & cheerful at parties with her love of monkeys and joyful spirit, she is always in our prayers ... Jen. Michelle had a great cheerful personality. I remember her love of dancing and so many recital outfits. Our family was blessed to have her ... Julie. I remember seeing Michelle at family parties. She was always so full of life you wouldn’t know she was sick. She was an inspiration for us all ... Tina. I was very young, but the year Tickle Me Elmo was very popular Michelle bought it for me for Christmas. She is in our prayers, peace ... Marie. We still cherish the Tickle Me Elmo - you stayed up all night to get if for Marie. We miss you ... Pat. I remember the time Michelle and I went to Darien Lake. Michelle convinced me to go on all kinds of roller coasters. She thought I would get sick, but was disappointed when I didn’t. She said, “Let’s go on the Pirate Ship.” I did, and when the ride was done I looked white as a ghost. She thought that was funny ... Uncle Louie. Your unconditional love gave me inspiration. I’ll always remember you by my side ... Love Aunt Pat. I remember when I came over and you said, “Tom, look at our fish.” Then you pushed a button & the fish moved and surprised me. You laughed and laughed ... Tom. I remember Michelle always feeding everyone and laughing ... Rose. Michelle, may the Lord hug you in his arms today. You had brought such joy to us, and He is returning it to you now ... Love & Prayers, Mike.

Sincerely ... Your loving friends & family, The Cureos

Labor of Love

How do children view the job their parents run off to each day? How aware are they of what you do at your place of employment, and how hard you work? In honor of Labor Day, we are asking children of different age groups to write a letter, story or poem of 50 words or less. The results indicate the deep appreciation children have for their parents, along with some amusing perceptions of what it means to be part of the labor force from the eyes of a child. Please submit all letters, stories and poems by Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at noon to: Angola Pennysaver - 19 Center St., Angola or our Derby office - 6926 Erie Rd., Derby (Inside A Village Locksmith)

All entries will be published in the September 2nd issue of the Angola Pennysaver.

The family of Ronald Spence (Jewelry by Spence) would like to thank everyone for all their support during this difficult time. Many thanks to Scott and Randy Addison and Carlton Ullrich for all of their guidance. Additional thanks to the Evans Police Department, Rural Metro, Lake Erie Beach Fire Department and St. Anthony’s RC Church. Special thanks to our friends and neighbors - Pat and Sandy Callahan, Richard and Donna Zanett, John and Peggy MacPeek, John Latimore, Patti Latimore, Mike Connors and Karen Erickson and the entire Connors/Erickson complex. And lastly, many, many sincere thanks to the continuous supports of April Seegar, Ronda Marvel and Diane Franczyk.
