Line up for the parade will be at the Angola Fire Hall grounds at 41 Commercial Street at 9:30 AM. The Parade will start at 10:00 AM. We will march to the Forest Avenue Cemetery for special services and then back to the Angola Fire Hall grounds at 41 Commercial Street. (Rain location will be the Angola Fire Hall at 41 Commercial Street)

There is an effective path for communicating to the school board which cannot be ignored if done correctly.

From the Old Photo Album

A few months back, Anne Mitchell, resident of the town of Brant, came across this photo of a parade float all decorated for “The Spirit of 76”. We don’t have the names of those included in the photo, but their patriotism is certainly on display! The photo was taken at what is today known as “the old Brant Town Hall”. With Memorial Day quickly approaching, we felt it was appropriate to share. Our country’s Bicentennial Year was 1976 and the founding of our great land was celebrated in all the states, towns, and villages in a variety of ways. The town of Brant recognized the country’s 200th Anniversary at their annual Memorial Day services.

On Memorial Day, May 30th, 1976, the town of Brant dedicated the Veteran’s monument in the then newly created Veterans’ Memorial Park at Brant Center. Dedicated in honor of those “men and woman who have served their country in it’s hour of need” and especially those who gave their lives for our freedom. The remembrance celebration consisted of a Parade, Memorial Day services, the dedication of the Monument and Park, a Historical Exhibit, and refreshments for all in the Brant Fire Hall. The “Evans Brant Central High School Band” under the direction of Peter Ciraolo played musical selections during the parade and throughout the dedication ceremony. David Schwartz of Farnham sang our NATIONAL ANTHEM.

In addition to the High School Band, local organizations participating in the parade were the four scout troops from Farnham: Cub Scout Pack 398, Boy Scout Pack 398, Brownie Troop 592, and Girl Scout Troop 592. Included as well, were members of VFW Post 1672 from Swormsville, NY and VFW Post 5798 from Evans, NY, antique cars of Mr. John Walker of Farnham and J. Carlton Winters of Brant, the Farnham Fire Dept. Marching Unit and Fire Truck, Brant Volunteer Fire Truck and Fire Police, and the Town of Brant Police Department.

Barbara Hyde (nee Cowan) of Lakeview, NY, passed away Tuesday May 23, 2023 surrounded by her family she was 97. The widow of George H. Hyde Sr., she lived a long life, as a parent, corporate wife and benefactor supporting Roswell Park and Hospice Buffalo, Inc. She attended the Buffalo School of Practices, the Buffalo Seminary, and Bradford Junior College and was a worldwide traveler. In addition to her late husband of 67 years, she was the loving mother of Edward, George Jr., the late Wendy Andres and Kathryn Knowlton Hyde. Sister of the late Margaret Walter. Loving grandmother of Charles L. Banta, Haley and Peter Andres, Grace Hyde Walker, John Alexander Hyde, and Edward Hyde IV. Great grandmother of Pablo Hyde. Also survived by her niece Carla Walter Clark. Services are private. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Barbara’s name to Hospice Buffalo, Inc., SPCA of WNY or the Ten Lives Club. Marilyn leaves behind her children, Patricia Waring, Sandra (David) Holloway, and Eileen (Robert) Phillips; and grandchildren Jennifer and Brian Holloway and Taylor Phillips. Marilyn will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and caregivers. She will be remembered fondly for her beautiful smile, encouraging spirit and generous heart. The Lake Shore High School Music Department is proud to present their annual Spring Concert on June 5th at 7pm in the High School Auditorium

Featuring our award winning String Orchestra, Mixed Chorus, Show Choir, and Symphonic Band.

Mr. Galante's recent film work includes "Renfield", starring Nicolas Cage.

The 5 time National Grand Champion Symphonic Band will perform the WORLD PREMIERE of a commissioned work for our school district by Internationally Renowned Composer and Film Orchestrator, Rossano Galante - "Champions of the Sky".

Mr. Galante and Mr. Blodgett started working on the commission project shortly after his visit last Spring. Mr. Galante will be in attendance from Los Angeles for the premiere and the concert will be professionally recorded by Mark Custom Recording. Mr. Blodgett and Mr. Galante plan to submit the work for publication in January 2024 in hopes that it will become a staple in band literature for generations. However, your support is needed to help make this a reality! Mr. Galante needs to see our school and district community out in full force for this concert!!
