Come autumn, however, when the sun weakens and days grow shorter, the amount of chlorophyll in leaves diminishes, allowing the other pigments in the leaves to show through. 5. Red and purple leaves are actually caused by the presence of sugars from sap that is trapped inside of the leaves.

Julia E. Agle Hausladen, age 100, of Eden, New York died Friday, September 4, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. Born in Eden, New York on February 12, 1915, a daughter of late George L. and Estella (Hickman) Agle. Julia was the oldest lifelong Eden, New York resident. She founded, along with her husband Edward Agle, a family business, Agle’s Farm Market and Greenhouses. She worked the market along with her son Richard for 46 years. Julia was a life-long member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Ladies Guild for 65 years. She was a member of the Eden Day Bureau for 55 years and was a member of the Valparaiso University Guild for 45 years. She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge and the piano. Devoted wife of late Edward E. Agle and Charles L. Hausladen. Loving mother of Richard E. (Pamela) Agle, Marjorie (Tom) Yarger and Beverly (James) Dossinger. Step mother

of Diane (John) Glenn and Richard (Diana) Hausladen. Grandmother of 5 and Great Grandmother of 12. Sister of Helen Ackerman and late Viola Richert, Mildred Schacher, Amelia Malte and Carlton Agle. Notice of State Administrative Hearing

Re: Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled, Inc. (CSDD) Proposal for Group Home at 8621 Jennings Road, Eden, NY A State Administrative Hearing on the Town of Eden’s objection to this proposed group home is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eden Town Hall, 2795 E. Church Street, Eden, NY.

The date and time for this hearing was set by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (NYSOPDD), and the hearing will be conducted by a hearing officer appointed by the Acting Commissioner of NYSOPDD. The hearing was originally scheduled by NYSOPDD to be held at a location outside of the Town of Eden, which would not have accommodated attendance by members of the public. Town officials insisted that the public have the right to be present to observe the proceedings and so, with the assistance of some elected state officials, the location was changed to the Eden Town Hall. Pursuant to NYS Law, the sole purpose of the hearing will be to allow the hearing officer to receive evidence regarding the following issues: (1) The need for such a facility in the community; (2) whether the establishment of the facility would result in an overconcentration of such facilities such that the nature and character of the area within the municipality would be substantially altered and (3) the suitability of alternate sites suggested by the municipality. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the proceedings. However, because this is a State Administrative Hearing and not a public hearing, it is not expected that members of the public will have an opportunity to speak.
