The last few breeding seasons we’ve teamed up with Gordon Turner from Blackie, Alberta and invested in a couple of outcross sire prospects that we’ve used selectively on a few females; Bell M Detail 130A in 2015 and Saskvalley Curfew 41C this year. We’ve retained a few Detail daughters and are certainly looking forward to their future. Through the development of some of his progeny we’ve checked off a few of the boxes relating to growth, structure, fertility and docility.

Another excellent Supreme daughter that Raelynn and I have had some heated debate over her retention in our herd, but she is offered up for sale to you instead. I’ve heard a lot from Raelynn about selling this one! She is as good as I expected from mating her dam & sire. Lots of length and maternal strength in this heifer. Her dam consistently produces the good ones every year. I think she will catch your eye on sale day.

A showy AI heifer sired by Rockstar, Grand Champion bull at Agribition in 2011. Her dam is a Walter daughter out of our favorite cow family. Her dam’s full sister was very well received as the donation heifer here in Lacombe in 2015. This cow line, going back to the Australian bull, Spry’s True Blue, are all good uddered, good footed, good tempered, good producing females. Their offspring are always at the top of the pen.

My all time favorite purchase is this heifer’s dam. She is everything I think a Shorthorn cow should be: Broody, fleshy, showy, docile, mama cow, who is no stranger to the top of her show class. Her flashy 2017 heifer , sired by the very good Kenlene Cowboy bull, is just an April calf, but already you can see her natural fleshing ability. She will go on to do great things for her new owner. These heifers represent the first calf crop of the Cowboy bull, and they are all the same, male or female -showy and easy fleshing.

FRIMLEY RENE DOTTIE 72R X CROOKED POST STOCKMAN 4Z 4 GRADE 1 EMBRYOS

Lot 45 Embryo Sire - Crooked Post Stockman 4Z

Rene Dottie 72R was purchased from the Gar-Lind Near Dispersal, and since she arrived here, she has produced 6 bulls in a row. The first 5 of them have averaged $5100 in our Sun Country sale. Her bull calf this year is another stand out and will be a feature bull in our 2018 sale. This cow represents most everything you want to see in a good beef cow. She is super sound made, apple smooth, has a great udder and is easy fleshing. Despite being 12 years old now, she has the udder of a cow half her age and she has lots of eye appeal. She gets noticed by everyone who tours our pastures. She is also from the famous Dottie tribe that has produced excellent genetics throughout Canada and the US as well as around the world. When selecting a sire to use to flush 72R, the first one that came to mind was Crooked Post Stockman 4Z, the impressive herd sire at Crooked Post. This should be a match made in heaven! I am expecting some beautiful roan calves from this mating! ( She is pictured here at 12 years of age just prior to going to be flushed) This is an investment in your future more than just a purchase! These embryos are exportable to most countries and sell with our standard minimum guarantee of 50% pregnancy rate at 70 days provided an experienced embryo technician is used. ( ie: we will guarantee a minimum of 2 pregnancies at 70 days from these 4 embryos).

A genetic combination of two outstanding beef animals. Melba Niam 8T is a daughter of Saskvalley Pioneer 126P and one of our all time favorite cows, HC Melba Niam 98H. 8T has produced several outstanding calves including two heifers that won their class at Agribition but she is also known as being the dam of Shady Lane Rockstar 9X, who was an Agribition Grand Champion bull. 8T is a model female with a moderate frame, great muscling and an excellent udder. She is well balanced and smooth. She is the kind of cow everyone wants to have their herd bull from. This mating with Bell M Foreman 30A should produce some exceptional offspring. Foreman was Grand Champion Bull at Agribition in 2014, but more Importantly, he is one of the best commercially oriented bulls to be shown in many years. He is massive, thick and sound structured as well as being loose hided and soft made. These embryos could produce your next herd bull or a front pasture female for your herd. These embryos are exportable to most countries and sell with our standard minimum guarantee of a 50% pregnancy rate at 70 days provided an experienced embryo technician is used.
