Two young men (with a couple of old guys for advice) bring an awesome set of Angus bulls for your appraisal! Each operation exhibited a pen of bulls with Matt kicking butt in Saskatoon by having the Champion pen and Michael with the Reserve, but then at Agribition the Wheelers captured Reserve Champion pen of bulls.
T Bar
The Wheeler operation is made up of 300 – 400 breeding females of which half are registered. Their commercial operation has taught them the importance of the combination of calving ease and pounds of calf in November. Although they realize that it is not a complete science, they strive to achieve for more pounds and more consistency each year. (That is the reason they placed eight bulls into one major commercial breeding operation this past spring.) The Wheelers have marketed bulls to major purebred operations but never forgot the roots they established … the cow-calf man.
Young Matt has done a credible job during his young years. Selected as the Junior Ambassador of the Canadian Angus Association, he represents the breed with professionalism. He owns and operates a 100 plus cow herd with a passion for livestock and breeding the kind of seedstock, the industry requires. His bulls are fresh, ready to go to work. The two year olds he is offering are a group of planned … not picked over bulls. Although Harvey and Mike would like to take credit, these two young men are the future and are blazing a trail of producing the “cattlemen’s kind” in an effort for their customers to get the upper hand in the market place. We are fortunate to assist them in their quest. Plan to be with us for a “cattlemen’s kind” offering at Saskatoon Livestock Sales, the second Saturday of March. If we, at T Bar C may be of assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to give us a call.
On behalf of Fleury Cattle Company, welcome to the Cattlemen’s Bull Event Saturday March 13th 2010. It is a privilege for me to be a partner with the Wheelers in this program. Saturday, March 13th, 2010 you will be able to evaluate a program with top quality Black and Red Angus bulls from people who make their living in cattle business. I am honoured to have the Wheelers as a sale partner once again. The Wheelers are very reputable in the beef industry and run a great operation.
Matthew Fleury
Our ranch is located twelve miles straight north of Aberdeen along the South Saskatchewan River, consisting of 130 purebred Black Angus females, and I hope to keep increasing my cowherd numbers. When building my cowherd, I have been selecting for high in maternal, easy doing ability. High performance cattle, which provide a superior carcass for the consumer.
This year I will have 25 yearling and 7 two-year old Black Angus bulls. We will have a good selection of bulls and feel that there will be a bull for every program. This will be the second year for Double AA Blackman 414’06 to have sons on offer. I have seen his sons out working for my customers and he has truly proven to be a herd bull. These bulls are moderate with bone, have stretch, with thickness, and performance. There will be bulls on offer out of the Bardolene 47’04 bull and his son 387’06. These bulls have stretch, are smooth and promote calving ease. The Bardolene is a female producing cow family; the momma cows milk hard with picture perfect udders. JL Final Answer 07030 was purchased last spring and has some real impressive bulls on offer, these bulls are easy doing, moderate, big hipped cattle and an out cross to our cow herd. The two-year olds I believe are a strong group that will allow you to service more cows in a breeding season. I would like to thank all the people who have made this year a success. Thanks to Katie Fleury who looks after registrations, Mom, Dad, and Cassie for all their help as well. Thanks to all bull buyers for believing in my program, your support is very much appreciated. We do not push our bulls; we breed for length, easy fleshing, and stress longevity. I am proud to bring out a strong set of black bulls. To view the bulls prior to the sale, come out to the ranch and we would be happy to show you the bulls, and you can tour the cow herd. We look forward to working with you, and will continue to supply cattlemen with predictable bulls that simply work.
Harvey & Frances
Michael, Rhea & Ty
Welcome to the Cattlemen’s Bull Event! Every year we head to Saskatoon Livestock Sales to put our calf crop up for sale to the highest bidder. This not only includes our crop of purebred Red and Black Angus bulls, but our commerical calves which have been the backbone of our operation for several decades. The life lessons learned breeding commercial cattle are reflected in the development of our purebred herd. Our goal is to supply seedstock which will allow our customers to produce the top end cattle that will top the market because in uncertain times as we have seen, if you’re not selling top end cattle, you will have no chance of turning a profit. There are many factors which are beyond the control of cow calf producers, but you can control where you sell in that market. A commerical producer summed it up best when he said “The bull supplier is every bit as important as the feedlots that purchase our calves. We know that good bulls cost money, but they are the key to uniformity and top prices each fall.” As seedstock producers we feel we have a huge responsibility to provide the commerical cattle industry with the common cow sense genetics that will help our customers be profitable. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers and supporters for putting their faith in our breeding program. We realize that there are many places that you can go to purchase your genetics, and the fact that you have chosen our program means the world to us. We always like to follow up with our customers and hear how the bulls are working and if possible give us a call when you sell your calves as we would like to see them go through the ring.
Sale day is always a busy one, but please don’t be afraid to introduce yourself and ask us questions about the offering. We feel that this year’s group of bulls is as close from top to bottom in quality as we have ever had, and we may be able to help you chose the bulls that best suit your goals. We would also like to thank our friends and family for the help throughout the year with farm work, show and sale preparations and most importantly, baby sitting. The people we have met through the cattle industy are what make all the work with little financial reward worthwhile. We are very fortunate to have a capable, honest, and enthusiastic cattlman like Matt Fleury to work with.
Ty bought his first cow this past fall and she had a bull calf, so in 2011 there might just be three generations of Wheeler’s selling bulls. Let’s get through 2010 and prepare ourselves for the future. Remember we’re all in this together.

ACTUAL WEIGHTS AND DATA: BW: Birth weight is the actual weight of a calf taken in pounds within 24 hours after birth. ADJ. WW: 205-day adjusted weight is the weaning weight of a calf adjusted to a common age of 205-days and adjusted for the age of the dam, for accurate comparison reasons.
ADJ. YW: 365-day adjusted weight is the yearling weight of a calf adjusted to a common age of 365 days for accurate comparison reasons.
Calving Ease Rating System: Bulls marked with this symbol have more punch and will have larger calves at birth and weaning Power Plus time, so they are recommended for cows only.
Curve Bender bulls have more moderate birth weights while maintaining performance. They can be used on cows with no problems on british breed heifers. A few assisted births may be expected out of heifers. Curve Bender
As the name implies a Sleep Easy Sire is a calving ease bull that lets you sleep easy knowing you should have very little calving difficulty. These are the bulls we recommend to use on heifers. Sleep Easy Sire
NOTES ABOUT EPD’s: EPD’s between Black and Red Angus are not comparable.
Animals with a PE in front of their EPD’s mean their EPD’s are pedigree estimates which are an average of the sire and dam and therefore are of low accuracy.
()' ) %
+ % &
EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCES: BW EPD: The birth weight EPD is a figure expressed in pounds and is a predictor of an individual's contribution to its progeny's weight at birth and is a comparison to breed average. WW EPD: The weaning weight EPD is expressed in pounds as the amount of increase or decrease in weaning weight you would expect from the progeny of a bull compared to an average bull of the breed for weaning weight.
YW EPD: The yearling weight EPD applies the same way as weaning weight EPD only in yearling form. It is the best indicator of overall growth.
MILK EPD: The milk EPD is a predictor of a sire's genetic merit for milk and mothering ability as expressed in his daughters, or in other words that part of weaning weight attributed to milk production. TM EPD: The TM EPD is a combination of an animals milk EPD added to 50% of its weaning weight EPD. It is an indicator of the growth potential of progeny based on performance and milking ability.
Calving Ease EPD (CE): Calving ease is a percentage of probability that a bulls calves will be born without any assistance. Therefore animals with a higher positive number will have a greater probability of having no calving problems.
Maternal Calving Ease EPD (MCE): Maternal calving ease is a percentage of probability that a bulls daughter’s calves will be born without any assistance. Therefore daughters of an 3 animal with a higher positive number will have a greater probability of having no calving problems.

This strong herd bull was discovered the spring of 2007. Double AA Blackman 414’06 was our pick of the Dillabough’s 2007 yearling bull pen. We bought half interest in this bull at the Ranchers Choice sale in Medicine Hat. This bull has sure proven himself; this January we calved 20 daughters sired by Blackman 414’06, all first calf heifers are milking well and are going to make nice cows. Not only are his females good, this fall I was able to see many of the sons after breeding and was very impressed. This bull has an 80 lbs. birth weight, 708 lbs. weaning weight, and a 1411 lbs. yearling weight. The numbers are right, his daughters are producers, and his sons are simply good. He has great ultrasound data with AAA marbling, 13.35”^2 REA. We are proud to have this bull working in our herd, his sons will impress you.

There might not be the quantity of two-year olds on offer but I can assure you that the quality is there. When buying Mill Iron’s herd, I was fortunate to purchase a package of cows, heifers, yearling bulls, and bull calves. All these bulls go back to genetics that are predictable, and are genetics my cow herd has been based around. This group of bulls have been developed no different than our yearlings; we have grown and developed these bulls to their genetic potential. These twoyear olds will simply work; come take a look, you won’t be disappointed.

• Inferno wasn’t planned but sometimes things turn out for the best in the end. • RPM Lady is also the dam to our herdsire Odyssey 2M and is a model Angus female. • Here is a bull with some extra age and size that will cover more cows or would work great in a pen of heifers. • Pride 161K and Lady 3J were dragged to a lot of summer shows over the years so putting them together in a pedigree makes Inferno something special.
