We bought 628D’s dam from the Frontline Sale two years ago from Valley Lodge. The mating of her with our South Dakota bull we purchased from Mohnen Angus has proven to be an excellent one. She is a smooth fronted, long spined heifer with a good hair coat and should bring some performance with her excellent EPDs. The South Dakota calves stand with presence in the field right from birth. The Countess family has been one of Valley Lodge’s top producing cow families in their herd. When she was selected we felt it was an opportunity to show these females work sold out of the Frontline Sale.

This heifer calf was handpicked by Shane in August. The only reason we're parting with this heifer is because we have a full sister in production. Her dam is a longbodied, broody Bennett Total female. The Lass cow family is one of the original cow families at Nesset Lake Angus. The Sequel daughters that are in production are neatuddered and have ample milk production. They are easy fleshing and carry-on the disposition of their sire.

We were fortunate enough to purchase a semen package from Double F Angus from Parkside on Merit Big Dawg and after seeing the calves this spring, immediately tried to buy more semen for the 2016 breeding season but were out of luck due to an injury to the bull which prevented further collection. This will be the only heifer we will offer as we intend to put the rest of her siblings into our herd. Out of Megan’s top show female, this calf’s dam was a favourite in the stall at Agribition, while her sire was named Reserve Intermediate Champion Angus bull at CWA in 2014. A desirable prospective show female for sure and a limited opportunity to acquire a direct daughter of Big Dawg.
