BLAST ANGUS Box 1012 Houston, BC V0J 1Z0 Ph. 250-845-3500 Cell: 250-845-1147 We have been raising registered black angus since 1998. Like many others in the Buckley Valley we got our start with a heifer from my parents, Frank & Dianne Strimbold of Poplar Lot 43 Meadows Angus. We ran the heifer with the commercial herd for the first few years and got our first registered calf in 1998. We still have the old “Mayflower12B” cow, but I think this will be her last year. She is a granddaughter of Camilla Chance 37T ‘Canadian Colossal’. 3 of our 4 consignments are descendants of her! We have had 2 Peak Dot herd sires over the years which have worked well for us and given us a great base cow herd. Our most recent herd sire was purchased from Hamilton Farms – HF Comeback 264U, a son of the popular Kodiak bull and out of an Echo cow. The cross has been phenomenal! We will have several sons for sale in the spring at the fist annual Northern Alliance Bull Sale – March 26, 2011 in Vanderhoof. We have 2 kids that help us out. Tori has her own small herd of red angus and Shea has already retired from the cattle business! We have a busy life, Brent hauls logs, gravel,and/or runs his excavator and I sell real estate. The kids are involved in hockey and gymkhanas. Due to lack of time we are trying to raise Lottrouble 44 free cattle. no fuss, easy going, We would like to thank our previous buyers and supporters and look forward to visiting with you sale day.

Lot 47 Welcome to the BC Angus Northern Highlights female sale. This year I have a placed a top set of females into the sale. The bred heifer is AI’d to the popular Mytty in Focus bull, and the heifer calves are both sired by top AI sires. With hay and grass in short supply, I have had to cull heavily in the herd, and only the best have stayed. These heifers come from the top of the herd and I think they will each become productive additions to your herd. If you have any questions about my sale offering please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

Red SVR Gangster 14S Grandsire of Bred Heifer Service sire Red Northline Dillinger 17W

Welcome to the 2010 Northern Highlights Female Sale. We are pleased to be consigning three good heifer calves along with seven bred yearlings. The calves are sired by Red Northline Crush 59R along with five of the yearling heifers. One yearling heifer is sired by our heifer bull producer, Red Get-A-long Ten 710. As this bull is now working the pastures of our good friends and neighbors, the McKee family, we most likely will not be selling any more of his offspring. The last yearling heifer is sired by our bull, Red Global Trust 21T. Trust is now residing in USA, this heifer is the first of his females to be sold in Canada, a one of a kind opportunity for you. All the yearlings are bred to Red Northline Dillinger 17W. This young bull is a son of Red SVR Gangster 14S. Fresh red genetics with balanced EPD’s. Dillinger is deep bodied, correct on his feet and legs and a deep cherry red color much like his sire SVR Gangster 14S. The yearling heifers have all been tested under the “Igenity” profile. If you want to be sure of what these heifers can do for you, we would be happy to forward the test results to you. Igenity is another tool we as beef producers can use to ensure the product we are producing will have a positive impact on the bottom line. Whether you are a new or existing breeder, these females will fit into your program. They are the sisters to our “above the average bull pen”. Watch for our first ever “Northern Alliance Bull Sale” coming to Vanderhoof in March 2011.

Brent, Lia, Shea, and Tori Long

All of our heifer calves are sired by our new herdsire, HF Combeack 264U – A Kodiak son of the renowned Echo cow family. We are really pleases with our first calf crop. They are moderate at birth, extremely uniform, with lots of depth and thickness. 1X is out of an easy fleshing Poplar Meadows cow which has proven to be a good investment. 1X is a powerhouse heifer with favourable EPDs and plenty of brood cow potential. We are only parting with her as we have a maternal sister from last year and 22S is bred back the same way. RED R BAR M FELICIA

The Mayflower cow family has really worked well for us – very productive females. 8X is a well balanced heifer with loads of natural thickness, yet still feminine. Her young Hobson dam has done a great job on this heifer. 8X would be a super junior project.

Another Mayflower! A very eye appealing heifer with plenty of volume. Her dam is another moderate sized Hobson daughter with excellent feet and a great udder. 10X has a maternal brother working in a commercial herd. A full sister to 10X’s dam is working in the Poplar Meadows herd. The Hobson/Kodiak cross has really clicked!
