The thesis aims to deal with the situation of a growing population and the need to house its inhabitants. The situation also concerns itself with the demand and the supply of water. Through this thesis, I am to investigate the impact of building within a flood plain and the social implications of such conditions.
The thesis will deal with the flood and drought, the seasonal changes in the waterscape and creating a room for the river. The purpose of this is to create a greater connection between the city and the river, Rio Seligheddu, bringing both closer to each other.
Through the relevant intervention in the city, the thesis proposes to appropriate the floodplain landscape while also creating a new pattern for the city fabric. The project will become a means of measure and volume on both the metropolitan and the body scale.
