ell, I chaired my first meeting and I think it went ok. Of course that’s not for me to say, rather for you as the members to comment on. Only another 50 or so to go before I can hand over the reins.

I would like to thank the members for working through a fairly dry session on the Strategic Plan. l l e However, as the slides remind us, in the wise unw D s i words of former US President JFK – “There are Chr R t n E e N d risks and costs to a program of action, but hey are OR resi P C m ’S far less than the long range risks and costs of comfortable S Fro I R inaction”. So thanks for endorsing the plan, largely unchanged CH from our session last year. I will be asking Paul to put up the new plan on the Club website so you can all see where we are going and what we have committed to going forward. I thank you for some lively debate over some of the issues and for good ideas from you all. I very much want to have input from everyone throughout the year as this is how we will make the Club work well and create the energy we need to have fun and do good in the world. We had some great successes in 2015 and we will have some great successes in 2016, I am confident of that. I am looking forward to working with everyone to make that happen. Just to recall, our top priorities are in the areas of Membership. I want to see all you active and engaged in the club at the end of my year. Retention is very important and we will strive to make the Club a great place to be. We also need to attract new members. We agreed that the membership of our club should more closely reflect the make up of our community. So we need more women members. Let’s face it half the population are women so we should find some more ladies. I know Marie is pleased to receive the attention of so many men on weekly basis, but I think she would like share fellowship with a few more ladies as well! We also need to attract he many successful community minded people who are Asian Australians, or African Australians. So we should challenge each other during the course of the year to invite potential members to experience our club. Now that RI has relaxed the attendance requirements we have an opportunity to invite new members without the need for them to attend every week. We will also look to collaborate with other Clubs in our Zone to work on some joint projects. I have no preconceived ideas whether these should be local, national or international. Frankly they could be all three. So please think about what we can do and how we can find worthy projects that we could potentially work on together with Norwest Sunrise, Glenhaven, Hills Kellyville, Rouse Hill etc. As you know DG Bruce Lakin is hoping to sup2

port the Indigenous Australian community in some way during his year and this might be a great opportunity for a collaborative project. We will also look to have fun. So fellowship will be a focus. To that end I invite anyone in the club to bring good ideas for fun and fellowship to the attention of the Board and the Fellowship Committee so we can enjoy each other’s company in fun and entertaining ways, engaging partners and friends to join us on a regular basis. So we look forward to continuing support for Teachers, Police, Pride in Workmanship and our many Youth activities, to making a success of our Cross Country Fun Run, our ongoing support to the victims of domestic violence in the Hills and some great BBQs. Yours in Rotary ,

President Chris
