his

week is an important week for us as

selves with one new member during the course of this calendar year - I am not advocating you leave once you have found a new member as we need everyone to carry on as long as they can and as long as they want tothen very soon we will be back over 40 and up towards 50 members. This means the roles – Directors, coordinators of special events, programs and weekly events - can be spread among a larger group so not everyone is doing one, two and three different things in any one year. Last week we enjoyed an excellent event in celebration of excellent work from members in our local community at the Pride in Workmanship awards. Once again many thanks to Bob Chary for his excellent organisation. And of course all the awardees are worthy winners and it was a pleasure to be able to hand them their wards. I hope they are all proudly displayed in their workplaces. Coming up soon is also our Excellence in Teaching Awards and this will be another great event and hopefully as many of you as possible will be able to attend. As we all know great teachers prepare the next generation, inspire them and encourage them to be the best they can be. Please remember that April sees PEST Training and the District Assembly so for those affected please remember to attend. For those who support Wests Tigers, after weeks two and three you can join me by crying in your beer. For those who are looking forward to the AFL, may your team go well (particularly if it is the Sydney Swans). That’s all for now.

we seek to fill some important positions in the Club going forward. Please make sure if you are a member of the Club that you attend to vote. I will have more to say about this in next weeks message. We will also enjoy hearing from Bruce DeGraf who is the District Membership Director. His topic is going to be f particular interest to us all as the Club needs to continue to increase our membership into the future as we seek to secure our long term future for the benefit of the local community and the wider Rotary community. The future of the Rotary movement depends on attracting new members who will get involved in the activities and work that we do, as well as enjoying the fellowship we offer as part of our community. We all know that average age of Rotarians has been creeping ever upwards and these great members become less able to contribute as they once did. As you also know we have lost some great Rotarians and friends of Rotary recently. We must be replacing ourselves and I urge each of you to take as much as you can of good advice from Bruce and others, and help our Club to replace the membership. If each off us Yours in Rotary , takes it upon ourselves to just replace ourPresident Chris

BBQ News

Foundation (all undercover of course) at a new site for us being Bunnings at Seven Hills. he girls from the Foundation provided tee shirts & caps & called in to lend their support. rofit was $874 & this will go to this well worthwhile charity. s can be seen from the photos taken on the day, we had great fellowship & a lot of laughs. Note the blue hair on Phil Dunn & Mike Blair’s new dancing shoes. he club is especially indebted to George Biegalke who has invested in an Onion Slicing machine & arrived at the Seven Hills site with 20 kgs of sliced onions at 7.30am all packed in ice. Thank you so much George, you saved us a lot of work on the day when we cooked over 500 sausages plus half the onions. Thanks to all who attended especially 2 prospective members Chris & Paul, who worked hard & said they enjoyed the company.

guests at a later date at one of our regular club meetings. n order to keep costs of the event to around our regular $25 per member, the Rotary Club of Castle Hill will pay for all invited guests.
