ast week’s meeting was once again a great celebration of the teachers of our com-

The Board will have a meeting on the 10th of this month at which time we will discuss the future direction of the club. children, from primary through secondary school years, helping them on the first and most crucial stages of their lives as they grow into the future leaders and pillars of our community in the future. All great people almost always trace their success back t the influence of their teachers. There would have been no Plato without Socrates and no Aristotle without Plato. This week we look forward to hearing from our Mayor and her colleagues about the successes they have enjoyed in setting up the women’s shelter in Castle Hill. Don’t be surprised that they won’t tell you where it is. Women in fear for their own safety and that of their children do not want their abusers to find out where they are staying. Hence the location is to known to very few.
These changes might also make it possible to attract those new members the Club will need to progress to a bright future, delivering good in our community and the broader world communities that we are a part of. Some of these ideas might include less frequent meetings, new ways to count participation, new meeting venues or flexible meeting venues, perhaps without meals from time to time. New ways to manage Club meetings without the need to hear the President drone on every week. If you, as members and friends, have any ideas around any of these topics we would like to hear them so we can consider them. Bring them forward and let’s see where we get to.

She is a dedicated, hard-working and passionate educator. She has a holistic view as to the wellbeing of her students – it is the focus of all parts of her teaching.
Nigel Simmons in 2008 moved to Baulkham Hills High School to take up the role of Head Teacher Administration. In that role Nigel has created and maintained the whole school timetable, liaised with the NSW Board of Studies about student entries for the HSC, co-ordinated the writing of reports for over 1200 students, coordinated all examinations including NAPLAN, arranged prize winner for annual presentation night and recognition assemblies and allocated student to classes. His ability to manipulate the timetable to accommodate changes in staffing is phenomenal as is his ability to creative acceleration opportunities for students. Much of what Nigel does on the timetable is contained within his head – his ability to visualise consequences of changing one small section of a matrix is truly amazing. Rhoda Yeates commenced teaching at Rouse Hill Anglican College in April 2003 as a Junior School Classroom Teacher. Rhoda is a most dedicated and competent teacher, who has taken on a range of classes from Kindergarten to Year Four.
In all of her class settings, Rhoda has demonstrated an outstanding degree of care for her students and equal dedication to professional learning and further development of her teaching skills. Her particular drive in leading student fundraising for, and awareness of the needs of young children in crisis has seen, for example Bear Cottage receive nearly $20,000 over four years. She is relentless in pursuit of these causes, acting as a wonderful role model for students in learning about organisation, event management, public relations and the care of others.
Terry is passionate about Mathematics, the teaching of it and the students in his charge. He cares deeply for all. Students in his classes, event after nearly forty years of service still see him as one of the best teachers they have encountered.
