Descriptive Pairs Project

This is the explanation of the steps i took to accomplish the descriptive pairs project. This project involved a lot of sketches and prep work to be able to get just the right descriptive pair. I spent about a week working on this project. I was able to come up with a lot of different ideas. Follow my steps to see how I started with a sketch and turned it into a finished product!

These are all the ideas i found online that inspired me. These ideas really helped me out when i was coming up with words to use because i got a better idea of words that can be made into a Typographic Word Expression.

This is the first set of ideas i came up with, Just a quick list of words i can possible use while working on this project.

At this point my teacher helped me out a little bit with a new creative way to show “Bust Out” in a Typographic Word Expression.

my first sheet of sketches i started to put together some words that i thought would work as my final idea.

At this point i started running out of new and fresh ideas. I began to define words in the dictionary to find what words have dual meanings. This opened up a whole list of possibilities for me.

After some more reserch i was able to find more definitions to certain words that really helped me out.

Here are some more sketches i was able to come up with for the words “Bust out” and “Car Jack”... At this point i really liked the idea of Car jack and realized i wanted to keep that as my typographic word expression.

This is the very first sketch i made, it is a descriptive pair but unfortunetly not a typographic word expressions. So with that said it was an awesome idea but didnt work out for this project.

R A C JACK These are all the final designs i came up with that i drew out in illustrator quickly to see how they would look like in their final form on the computer.

In a nutshell, this project took some time in sketching and i think my final design came out to be very good, it is creative and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I spent a long time coming up with diffrent ideas i could use for this project. I started with a list of words that have more then one meaning and defined them. After that i spent time sketching and using illustrator to bring my idea to life Thank you for following me in my adventure in creating my typographic word expression using descriptive pairs.
