Working from home is a growing trend that shows no sign of slowing. But not everyone has the space for a separate office area and bedroom. Enter Studio Essentials. By adding a floating desk to the traditional murphy bed, we’ve created a home office and comfortable sleep area that exist in the same square footage. And that’s just the beginning. Studio Essential murphy beds feature popular and proven benefits. When closed, it's ready to work. The locking mechanism securely locks the bed inside the cabinet and prevents the bed from being lowered incorrectly.
Our state-of-the-art piston lift mechanism is a favorite of many leading hotels and studio apartments. Computer-balanced and designed for daily use, it eliminates many moving parts and reduces the incidence of metal fatigue. The mechanism is completely contained within the cabinet and requires no adjusting. Because the unit is wall mounted, it lowers easily and prevents damage to your floor or holes in your carpet. Our panel bed design eliminates bi-fold doors often used in murphy beds that can block access to storage space.
The sides come standard with wood veneer, which eliminates the splitting and warping that can sometimes occur with hardwood. If you prefer hardwood for your bed and side units, it is a custom option. Studio Essentials murphy beds ship unassembled, making them easy to get up narrow stairways and into tight spaces.

Each tree has its own charm and grain patterns formed by its environment.
The cells of wood are mostly long and narrow, like small tubes or pipes, and extend up and down the tree. Through the sapwood, the sap is carried from its roots to feed the leaves.
After the wood has been cut, it must be dried, or seasoned. A living tree contains a great deal of water, thus when the wood dries, it shrinks considerably. It takes careful handling to properly dry lumber.
Solid hardwoods will expand and contract with the changes in temperature and humidity; therefore, it is important to keep the humidity in the 35 to 45 percent range to avoid cracking or warping.
Furniture made with solid hardwood can add a rich, warm and charming touch to your home. When properly cared for, it can be an heirloom for future generations.
Using rustic wood in heirloom furniture shows off beautiful grain patterns and interesting character. As the tree grows, the grain markings are developed around the branches, mineral pits and other natural characteristic. Sap cherry comes from the same log as regular cherry, but more the outside part of the log instead of the heart. The results are wider, curlier grains and more white boards.

Hickory wood ranges in color from white to brown and includes some black streaks. By adding the knots and other natural defects, the results are stunningly unpredictable. A great look for your cabin or lodge.

Our Flame Birch will generate a lot of heat with consumers. The characteristics of a fire flaring up and dying down are mimicked perfectly by the uneven distribution of the grain.

Ohio Certified Stains (OCS), known for making very consistent colors.
Ohio Certified Stains keeps all their master stain samples wrapped and stored in the dark to ensure no change to the color. And they create new samples periodically to maintain consistency. Below are stains that are recommended for each wood species.
