Riding High on App-less Proximity & Context The Tech Combo of Physical Web & Beacons Arrives The Google Physical Web is an interesting & innovative concept pioneered by Google with an aim to expand the world wide web to include physical objects seamlessly. Physical web, as the name suggests, gives power to objects of all types to transmit information over web pages using the tiny beacons, giving beacon app development a whole new outlook. With this intuitive concept, a discovery service powered by bluetooth low energy beacons, Google develops a relatively high focus on interactions with objects of all types. Google currently markets the physical web project as an open approach facilitating quick & seamless interactions with locations & specific physical objects.

The user need not have any specific apps to access this content, rather a simple browser like Chrome would be sufficient. Recently, Google Play services were revamped to effectively detect physical web URLs. The concept does away with devices to be sophisticated or capable of running apps. Instead it is all set to empower almost anything to offer value and information, resulting in endless possibilities of information dissemination. For the physical web to exist, any physical object of choice needs to be embedded with a simple communication device like the standard beacon to broadcast the URLs.
