01 DESIGN UNIT: ANIMATE SPACES/FORM DESIGN UNIT AGENDA:Explores using the architectural medium of the section. The unit explores this notion of what it means be ‘animate’ from the context of the sectional qualities of space in the post digital age. Using sites in Delhi NCR as a testing bed, the unit will investigate this ‘inside out’ approach through the design of a mixed used public building. The design process will explore through these 8 basic sectional typology which will play major part throughout the process. the 3-d zoning prototypical model . The external and internal form will play in contrast to each other as the external form is smooth without any break whereas the internal form is edgy and sharp. The motive of this unit is to break the myth of creating building through plans only, because as a human being we experience the building trough its section. the sections. RAPID PROTOTYPING The Pegasus will be having a unique eature of rapid prototyping (also known as 3-D printing )which wil be one of the focal point of the building Mass customization manufacturing with on spot demand and supply, will be the main attractor point for the users. All the different types of product either for selling or for private use in different programs of the building can be manufactured itself on the site. Rapid prototyping will help us to connect with the customers directly as they can customize their product with their own will Rapid prototyping will cut down the cost of transportation, from warehouse to the retail market and will save a lot of time

02 relationships between the 'built' habitat and the parameters (the tangibles and the intangibles) that form the c onditions of i ts operation. In an age where the technologic al, economic, ecological and social conditions are in a state of architecture necessitates a paradigmatic shift from the design of

'systems' of synergistic ally interdependent spatial stru ctures that can accomodate and al low multi-nodal existenc es . Adaptive Hab itat studio wi ll explore structures, or e nvironments that accommodate multiple fun ctions at the same time, sequentia lly, or at periodic ally recurring events. W e are interested in in vestigating the processes which can possibly a llow architecture to sense, interpret , adapt and respond to altering parametric s ituations. The studio wil l follow a'pro cess' driven methodology where the goal is to seek systemic diagrams / algorithms,that contribute to the newer forms of the arch itectural constructs. We will interrogate

macro tothe micro, at al l times of day, week, month and year. Adaptive Archi tecture is c oncerned designed to adapt (to their environment,to their inhab itants, to objects within them) whether this is automati cally or through human intervention.

03 Considering the factors such as rapid urbanization and irregular change in demographics in Gurgoan we have choose to work on technological based exploration using tractable housing. Tractable housing is a concept of exterior spaces of a house by using tractable walls and creating an individuality of housing unit. This gives the users an opportunity to mend their spaces to their requirements. In the process of theme exploration few considerations were made to select a site for the project other than the general requirements of accessibility, location and other site conditions. The number of units per arranged in a triangular cluster such that maximum perimeter of the unit is customizable. As the units are only 3 per tower we will have to design tall the requirement, hence good views at greater heights are a requirement. Among all the three sites given we have analyzed ‘Unitech The Palms’ site as the most suitable for residential use and theme requirements.
