La Muse¡ta A future for Marbella

A design by Anna M. Bengtsson

Marbella.

La Bajadilla. 2020 A new future for Marbella's old fishing port. This new marina is a great initiative and a correct decision to create a fresh new landmark for Marbella. 2050 / 2100 By the end of the century, global mean sea level is likely to rise at least 0.3 meters above 2000 levels, even if greenhouse gas emissions follow a relatively low pathway in coming decades.

2020 Average temperature in Marbella during summer is 28 degree celsius. 2070 Average temperature in Marbella

Temperature.

during summer is 33 degree celsius 2100 Average temperature in Marbella

The world will be warmer than today in 2070; the patterns of rainfall and drought across the world will be different. The higher CO2 concentration, the greater the warming - and, more important still, the greater the chance of triggering something grave and irreversible: rising sea levels due to the melting of Greenland's icecap.

Walk into the art.

Art 2100.

Art in 80 years will be about complete connectivity and dialogue with the viewer with less and less of the detached formalism we see in art now. Art will take us to the edge of the horizon and question what is beyond. Preparing for many different futures The future is uncertain, what we do know is that art has and will always be about creativity, connection and communication. The more social we are online, the more we crave offline human interaction and storytelling that art can deliver. Therefore I believe gallery and exhibition space has its place in the future.

01 Concept; Symbiosis. It's the living together in more or less intimate association or close union of two dissimilar organisms

Development.

Outdoor area Creating an outdoor area to promote airflow in an effort to cool the space, due to extreme temperatures 2100. Elevating Elevating the volume to create a resilience against rise in sea level that will occur in the future. Volume A volume is placed on the ground. The volume is in symbiosis with nature due to its ability to clean air through nanotechnology.

Development.

Symbiosis Creating a symbiosis with an organic exterior shell that provides shade for the inside volume and symbiosis with nature due to the hollow inside of the shell is covered with algae that has the ability to clean water when it comes into contact with each other.

Opening up Opening up a part of the roof to promote extra airflow and to let natural light in.

Scenario. 2020 The end result will be a space where you can feel the cooling ocean breeze, shaded by a beautiful shell and where you experience an extraordinary exhibition.

2050 / 2100 In 2100 when the sea level has risen, you will arrive with boat onto the galleries own port. Walking through an opening in the shell and up on the terrace.. The space inside will be nice and cool due to shadow from shell and open air flow.

Virtual tours. In the densely populated and diverse city of the future, historical heritage is preserved and celebrated. Recreations, arts and entertainment can be shared globally through virtual and augmented reality. Experience it in real life or have your own virtual tour from home. Even under global pandemics you can enjoy art.

Self Evaluation. Greatest work of mine I have maintained a strict time schedule throughout the project, which could have had room for more error space. But I manage to work around it with the help of a disciplined mindset, motivation and with the help of my lovely family and teachers. The outcome reflects my effort for achievement and my passion for design strategies and climate change. There will always be room for improvement and one will never be “done with a project. But for now, this is the greatest work I have done. I can proudly say that I would show my project to a large global audience without hesitation.
