Workshop Goals To learn the nuts and bolts of ADHD in order to help parents develop an increased understanding of how ADHD affects children/youth (topics will include suspected causes of ADHD, when medication can be useful etc). To develop basic parenting strategies that will help bolster family relationships and enhance daily routines thereby reducing stress and increasing positive family experiences (topics will include homework, sibling relationships etc) . To address behavioural challenges and self-esteem issues often associated with ADHD (how to set limits, deliver consequences and maintain an empathic stance toward your child/youth). To expand parents' knowledge of the resources available to address the specific needs of children and youth with ADHD within the school system and greater community (topics will include how to build your school support team, and set your child/youth up for greater success).

About the Presenter: Annabelle Fell, MA, MSW, is a Registered Social Worker specializing in the social and emotional development of children, adolescents and young adults. She has led workshops in the community for the past 7 years. Annabelle completed her Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto and then went on to complete various fellowships, including a fellowship at the University of Toronto in the Department of Psychiatry, Child Psychiatry Division. She was also an adjunct faculty member at the Factor Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto until 2007. She is now the founder of Annabelle Fell Inc, a company dedicated to empowering kids, teens and young adults with the self-knowledge and skills they need to manage life's challenges and reach their greatest potential.
