About The University of Law
The university is the UK’s longest-established provider of legal education, and we are now bringing over a century of training expertise to students interested in business. We aim to deliver the best professional training to students who want to make it in the business or legal world. We have centres across the UK in eight city centre locations (London Moorgate, London Bloomsbury, Birmingham, Bristol, Chester, Guildford, Leeds, and Manchester). In addition, our specialist school De Broc School of Business was launched last year to deliver a range of business courses, and we expect to see outstanding results for our business graduates. We are the acknowledged leader in innovative, professional education for prospective lawyers, and we anticipate gaining a corresponding reputation for leadership in business training in the near future. We made history in 2006 by becoming the first independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers by
the Privy Council, leading to the development of our professionally-focused Bachelor and Master of Laws degree programmes. In 2012, we were granted full university title and changed our name from The College of Law to The University of Law. This was an important development in our long history, as it not only reinforced our absolute commitment to excellent professional training, but also opened the way for the development of our business faculty. The creation of De Broc School of Business was a further step in our dedication to providing training for the next generation of ambitious professionals and giving them the tools to succeed. With a rich heritage and a reputation for innovation and contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best professional minds.

De Broc School of Business De Broc is the business faculty of The University of Law. It offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, designed specifically to deliver the skills that employers are looking for. All of the courses include practical training, which gives students the hands-on experience they need to develop a good working knowledge of real business practices. The goal of improving employability is reflected in each task and skill covered by the course, including areas such as communication, understanding people and knowing the right questions to ask. In addition to these practical skills, students will also benefit from a first class academic experience through personalised teaching with faculty that have worked in business and as lecturers. We also believe that students learn best when they are closely involved with their tutors, so we use small group settings for the majority of the teaching. We use the most up to date resources in business education, including resources such as the Financial Times. The teaching environment at De Broc exposes students to the latest research developments and to theories that challenge current business assumptions, helping students create innovative solutions for a changing business landscape.
