My father's side is eastern european and when I was little I had such a love for my set of matryoshka nesting dolls. They're typically done with floral motifs, but I wanted to switch them up slightly, turning them into farmer girls carrying bundles of wheat or rhubarb. I surprised my Baba (grandmother) with a drawing for her birthday and am in the process of continuing the series, mostly making them for the women in my family.
