ABOUT My name is Anna Mimran and I am a London based designer studying BA Product Design at Nottingham Trent University. I believe that simplicity should be at the heart of the design process. My approach when starting any project is to priorities creating a pure translation that balances the core principles of functionality, sustainability, quality and beauty. As a designer, I feel it is important to infuse yourself in all design disciplines in order to be able to concieve well informed ideas and to celebrate every stage of the creative process from conceptualisation to fabrication.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOUR WEEKS
Brief Design and develop a proposed solution to the amount of plastic waste produced in a domestic setting. Use primary and secondary research findings to support the proposal. Ensure the outcome is easily adoptable, and increases consumers awareness of the ecological impacts of domestic plastic waste specifically.
The basis of the design is a range of refillable bottles which consumers will keep and reuse, made from sustainable materials. Their features work to achieve three objectives; extend the lifetime of materials, abide to eco design and prevent the use of new plastic by economising on the plastic in existence. The bottles are made of silicone and glass which create a durable yet sophisticated and sculptural bottle. The packaging is colourless in order to facilitate recycling after the products lifetime and features an interior soap repellent coating to reduce waste. The proportions used create a comfortable user experience and allows for 750 ml of contents in order for replacement to be infrequent.
“ We need to stop thinking about plastic as waste and start to use it as a resource Iain Ferguson [Environment Manager at Co-op]

HANBAT x NTU PROJECT ONE WEEK
Brief Using the directional research provided by students in South Korea, we were asked to explore the commercial home-ware market developing a small stool specifically for production in wood which aimed to facilitate the traditional Kimchi making process.
The Kimchi throne is a lightweight and stackable stool for ease of use and greater efficiency. The user is able to adjust the height of the backrest depending on the users needs. The backrest also provides support for the workers and is more comfortable, reducing muscle aches and improving their posture. The throne is easy to clean due to the fact that it is made from wood, which is durable and long lasting. The backrest has an optional cushion which can be added to provided further comfort.
김치 왕좌 The ‘Kimchi Throne’ incorporates all the necessary features to facilitate the kimchi making process. This stool features a wide seat which will support the user and allow comfort throughout long periods of use. Additionally, this stool helps prevent muscle aches and composes posture thanks to the back support which can be adjusted according to the users preferences. Finally, the back support can be folded over into a compact shape allowing it to be stackable as well.
