Oliwia’s swimming career Oliwia Jablonska (born in 1997) has been a member of Disabled Sports Club “Start” in Wroclaw since 2006. She was a very talented swimmer from the beginning when she was learning and then improving her style. Thanks to very hard and systematic work she made a big progress very quickly. Oliwia did not have to wait long for success. First, she won medals in Junior National Championships. She won her first senior medal when she was 12 – it was a bronze medal in Summer Polish Championships in Swimming. Then, she became a member of a Polish junior national team in June 2009. After a year she won 6 gold medals in Junior World Championships in Olomouc in 2010 and she became The Best Disabled Athlete of the Year. From European championships in Berlin Oliwia brought a bronze medal in 400m Freestyle. She was also 4th in 100m Butterfly. These results proved that Oliwia has a chance to become a member of Polish national team for London Paralympics. At the end of the year Oliwia won 6 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze) in World Championships in Dubai. When the International Paralympic Committee announced how many Polish athletes can take part in London Paralymipics 2012, it became obvious that Oliwia would became a member of Polish national team. Before the Paralympics Oliwia was 3rd in the World Ranking in 100m Butterfly and 5th in 400m Freestyle. On 1st September 2012 before noon Oliwia qualified to the final of 100m butterfly with the 3rd result. Although she was 5th after 50m and 4th 15m before the finishing line, she managed to swim faster and end the final race on the 2nd place. Her result 1:08.55 became a new European record. During London Paralympics Oliwia took part in the following races: •

400m Freestyle – 4th place

100m Freestyle – 8th place
