preview make a rustic branch mobile This mobile is a great way to display your vintage ornament collection! You want a long, very thin, flexible branch that is the height of your ceiling plus 3-4 ft. with no smaller branches along the base until it hits the ceiling. You will need to be able to anchor your thin branch to something like a post or column. We attached ours to a cutout between the living room and the dining area with jute rope. You may be able to attach it to a bookcase or a tall piece of furniture. Just make sure that whatever you attach it to is firmly anchored + you use strong rope to attach it safely. Make sure you tie secure knots.
Paint your branch white with acrylic paint and a big paintbrush. It may need a few coats. Let each coat dry before applying the next.
Add some clear lights. Wind them tightly around the branch base and onto the smaller branches with care.
Set up a work space where you can get organized. I like to store my holiday decor in clear plastic containers so that when I am planning, I can easily see what I’ve got to work with. In addition to your branch, you will need some supplies for this project:
scissors wire cutters floral tape floral wire
ribbon glue gun tape ornaments
Plant your “tree Lay your branch on the ground with
the bottom end against the post or column. Pick up the branch and push the branch up onto the post, bending the branch towards you so the smaller branches form a canopy on the ceiling. Have someone help you hold it, and tie it securely to the post or column. You may need hooks or nails to make sure it is safe. Test it once you have it up, just to be sure!
Tie ribbons onto your ornaments, then tie them onto the canopy of branches. Leave a little tail of ribbon if you choose. Use various sizes and colors within your color scheme. Hang them various heights. Make sure you have the ornaments high enough so that no guests hit their head! Be careful not to add too many that it’s distracting or too heavy! 5-7 ornaments should be enough.

My family’s amazing gluten free {& vegan friendly!} cookie recipe
Ingredients: 7/8 c. butter or dairy free butter alternative softened 3/4 c. organic sugar or coconut sugar, or any other dry sweetner of your choice 1 egg or egg replacer 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 1/2 c. of gluten free baking mix - I like Pamela’s brand... try a few to see which you like best. 1 tsp. gluten free baking powder
Mix it:
Cream butter/replacement + sugar, add egg + vanilla beat until smooth. Combine dry ingredients, add to wet mixture a bit at a time, beating briefly. {see add-ins below} Add by tablespoonful to a baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake:
350 for 6-8 minutes.
Add-ins:
The best thing about this recipe is you can add chocolate chips, or you can add dried fruit. You can put it in a pan and cook it bar style, adding the chocolate to the top once it’s done baking, along with sliced almonds... My sister even made minty ones last year with minty creme filling {frosting with mint extract} The possibilities are endless. You can even make a ton of the base at once + then split it up into different flavor batches. Adjust bake time for bars!
wrap it up When wrapping similar holiday gifts for a group, turn it into a guessing game!
Every year I get my family members chocolate bars. I wrap them using my gift wrap kits, but you could use a recycled grocery bag, kraft paper, butcher paper, etc... then I embellish them with different washi tapes, glittered shapes and die cuts, ribbon, twine, ric rac.. to represent each person. They all have so much fun trying to figure out whose is whose.

How to use Essential oils this busy holiday season:
Sore throat: make a spray with a few drops of doTERRA On Guard in
4 oz. of water in a clean glass spray bottle and spray into throat {this is for older kids and adults. It helps a sore throat so much} You can also use 1 drop of the oil in a TBSP of coconut oil and rub on the neck and bottom of feet. Make a cup of feel better nog.
Headaches: get doTERRA Past Tense. They have a wonderful roller
bottle, just put a little bit on your temples, and the back of your neck. Drink a glass of water to hydrate and give yourself 5 mintues. Alternate oils: eucalyptus, peppermint, wintergreen, lavender.
Dry/sensitive skin: 1 drop of geranium oil in 3 drops of argan oil, sesame oil or olive oil. Pat onto clean skin. You can also add lavender, chamomile.
Tummy aches: I love doTERRRA’s Digest-zen. Rub a drop or two on
your belly and it helps. Or I take a drop in a small glass of water. It tastes good so kids like it. Always dilute oils twice for children. Alternate oils: peppermint, fennel, chamomile.
Flu/chest cold: doTERRA’s Breathe blend is amazing. Put a few drops on your palm, then make a cone with your other hand and inhale to help with congestion. Use a drop on chest with carrier oil.
*My family uses doTERRA because of their high quality standards. They continuously test to ensure their oils are certified pure therapeutic grade. I am a distributor and I use their oils in all of my class kits, workshops, make & takes, and skin care products. I do make a small percentage on each sale, so I appreciate you shopping using my links if you would like to try doTERRA’s oils. Let me know if you need help choosing oils! xo, Anne
the holistic aromatherapist recommends: Please make sure you use only ORGANIC certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils both internally and externally. The extraction methods some brands use requires chemicals that are toxic. They aren’t meant to be used internally, most of them are used for their aromatic qualities.
